I want to open this thread by commending the 24 hardy souls that travelled to Mansfield and back last night. I understand that the M1 was closed in places on the way back, so God only knows what time fans arrived back in Sussex.
We have now lost more away games (11) than any other team in the entire Football League....
Our away league record is:-
Played 14 Won 2 Drawn 1 Lost 11
So 7 points from a possible 42.
If you factor in a 1-1 draw at Southend in the FA Cup, and a 1-2 loss at Gillingham in the EFL trophy - it makes for even more grim reading.
I'm really not sure what the problem or solution is
In the 3 games we haven't lost (Cheltenham, Lincoln & Newport) we have kept clean sheets in all of them, although only scoring 2 goals in the process - so maybe revert to playing 1 up front/parking the bus in the remaining away games could be the answer. Is part of this a mental thing with the players perhaps - are they half beaten as soon as they step on the bus?
By all accounts, we could - and maybe should - have got something from the last 2 games. We are competing, making chances & giving teams a decent match...
...with a bit more scrapping & maybe concentration, narrow defeats can become narrow wins without too much tweaking.

Im amazed anyone went. We have as a club failed to raise our care fan base and weve been in the league a few years now. Its not just away. Raise it at home and away will naturally follow upwards.
