Arrived at 2.45pm, a bit later than intended. Saw the queue (estimated 30 mins in the pouring rain) and went home again.
Will the club ever stop scoring own goals?
Why wasn't the ticket cabin open? Why wasn't there a pile of pre-printed terrace tickets to speed up transactions?
Why can't you buy pre-printed terrace tickets at the bar while buying a pint?
Why did they run out of cans of Diet Coke last week? It was the first game of the season ffs! Any cans that didn't sell last weekend would have sold before the end of the season.
Just think, if they had the right amount of people manning a slicker ticket sales operation, a large amount of the people in the crazy queue would've been in Redz, putting more money into the club.
Shape up Crawley Town.
Why do people still turn up 10 or 15 minutes before a game and expect to waltz in? Could ask the same of Brighton why their treatment of us and crap refreshment facilities at SSC final, and presumably they are going to get bigger than us at games this season?
My opening sentence clearly states that a 2.45pm arrival was unintentional. However, looking at the queue, people who arrived at 2.30pm would've done well to get in for KO.
Irrespective of my arrival time, the club were grossly understaffed and ill-repared in a key area.

twitter says 3484 attendance with 1767 from Brighton
Subs so far are Arthur for Garnett, Camara for Verheydt and Lelan for McNerney, presumably HK is working to a plan as 5 or 6 of the unused, so far, subs are what you would think were first choices
I know this is only a psf but surely with some pride at stake that is a pretty strange side we have put out, almost as if HK had acknowledged we were going to get stuffed so may as well put out the stiffs (apart from a couple of exceptions).
I thought that too. For me, Kewell should be now going with a side who he thinks will start against Port Vale. The games are running out, the days are being ticked off and the XI should now be in his thoughts.
Just got back from my driving lesson to see we're 6-0 down! I know it's only a friendly and against a Premier League team, but this is embarrassing to concede so many goals!

But that was also my point I saw what you said and it obviously wasnt just you, and I have on occasions had to do that myself but if I do I might also expect not to get in on time. There must have been many who came after 2pm without tickets when they must realise with all the sheep supporting Brighton in the local area that it was going to be extremely busy? "Big" clubs such as Brighton also underestimate the staffing/food requirement as I mentioned re the SSC Final and their resources are massive compared with ours.

Hopefully there will be quite a few changes for Port Vale ........ I suppose it's something that Yorwerth managed to get a yellow card, that shows some effort, at the end of the day though if a Premier League club can't beat a League 2 club 6-0 then it would be them with the bigger problem, especially with a number of Crawley first picks unused

Running out of Diet Coke? Is that seriously a complaint? With all the stuff the owners and club are doing at the moment, and someone is calling not being able to buy a Diet Coke in a PSF an 'own goal'... they must wonder why they bother.
I didn't go today but that is a poor result, regardless of the opposition. I had been worried we were lulling ourselves into a false sense of security with our choice of PSFs, but today is hopefully a bit of a wake up call for HK before the season starts.

With the side we put out it seemed we were in league with the "carrier bags" to prove how much better it would be for local people to support them than us? We have played Premier League sides before and been very competitive and also bear in mind it is pre season for them as well. Does not do much for local pride (unless of course you are one of the many Brighton fans locally)

Not embarrassing at all. Could have easily been double figures. What do people expect. We didn't play strongest team and they are premier league.

Isn't that the point that Alun is making Mick.... shouldn't the club also have anticipated that it was going to be extremely busy? IMHO it is not unreasonable for people turning up after 2pm without tickets to expect to queue for a period of time, but anything over ten minutes seems excessive.
I appreciate they are at a much higher level than us, but we should be playing our strongest team and looking to put in a good performance in what is a showcase friendly to try and attract local people in Sussex to come to our games more often. Yes it's only a friendly, but it was also an opportunity for the club to show itself in it's best light.
