htwitter says 3484 attendance with 1767 from Brighton
Subs so far are Arthur for Garnett, Camara for Verheydt and Lelan for McNerney, presumably HK is working to a plan as 5 or 6 of the unused, so far, subs are what you would think were first choices
lot of falmer fans in west stand. Ok kids as psf naybe but no shirts and no adult falmer fans. They took the p outta our ticketing organisation they took the p out of us in the ground and they took the p out of us on the pitch. No wonder Josh wanted to smack lualua. These sheep from falmer also spoke and spat out some of the most disrespectful and disgusting stuff ive heard in a long time. It was far from friendly.
I can't believe many of that team will start against Port Vale. If they do it will be a bloody long season.
Really it was shooting practice for Albion. 6 goals, at least 5 decent saves from Morris and various other efforts high/wide etc. Our best chance was Clifford, unmarked in the box and hit the roof (of the stand, not the goal).
Verheydt looks miles off full fitness. Several others are still short. Really only Cox and Morris stood out (not sure how Lewis got MoM, had a mare in the first half and proved he isn't a wing back).
You have to be a bit of a berk to get a card in a PSF, Yorwerth managed it and in a competitive game his hack at LuaLua about 5 mins later would have been costly.
Murray's dive for the penalty was a real 9/10 job.
I arrived 2.30 and the queue for ticket collections was across the car park, fair dos the club had staff running up and down and it took about 10 mins.
Off the field the PA in the West Stand (North) still needs sorting and the hand dryer in the gents still broken.
No need to panic yet, PSFs are not a great measure, but only 2 weeks to go.

Hard to know what our 'best' team is. I wouldnt say the selection was far from it and falmer had few 'bigger' names missing. If HK continues us playing ball out from back we WILL be relegated. Certainty.
Running out of Diet Coke? Is that seriously a complaint? With all the stuff the owners and club are doing at the moment, and someone is calling not being able to buy a Diet Coke in a PSF an 'own goal'... they must wonder why they bother.
The Diet Coke incident is simply indicative of how poorly organised it is.
If they'd run out of a perishable I'd be inclined to forgive. But running out of a bar staple when there are at least 25 opportunities to shift them if you overbaked it in week one is inexcusable.
Too many on here are club apologists. I want the club to succeed, but being incapable of meeting customer requirements will ensure this won't happen and is frankly pathetic.

I'd say too many on here are consumed by finding negatives with he club at any opportunity and refusing to look at the bigger picture...we have an owner who is making the most overt efforts at engaging with the supporters in recent memory and you have people complaining about Diet Coke! Could you have potentially branched out and gone for a Pepsi!?
And if you go away to other grounds to this league you will know that for the vast majority it is not pay on the turnstile. You usually have to trek aside to the other side of the ground to queue, then buy a paper ticket then walk to the other side. It is not a unique situation for Crawley that if you turn up at 14:45 you cannot simply waltz in...
To be honest today was hard to watch, they could have had 7 in the first half and they were so much better it seemed unfair. But they are decent. Bit concerned about the 3 at the back wing back formation though, there are so many holes in defence I would expect most league 2 teams would be able to be able to score without too much effort. The attempts to play offside were pretty laughable and at times we looked like we were playing 1 centreback with Yorweth and Garnett occupying LB and RB far too far apart to operate as a defensive unit. The 'wingbacks,' had clearly not been told they were wingbacks and rarely were 'back'. I don't think this system will work with our players. Better to stick with a familiar formation and just ensure everyone is doing their job properly and build from there. I do think we have a competitive first 11 but they're not getting the basics right.

i agree with most whats said here except i DO believe most of what played today will line up versus porky vale. Thats depressing. Josh seems to be a hot head when players completely outplay out battle out do out skill him. My MOM Cox worked hard closing down and created our best arguably only two real chances. Despite Morris getting constant abuse from the falmer sheep i wouldnt argue if he topped MOM as he prevented double figures.

I wasnt there thankfully but are we talking about the same ticketing issue, because some are saying it was at least 30 minutes to wait and some gave up whereas Simon arrived fairly late at 2.30 yet the club sounded as though they were doing what they could and he only had to wait 10 minutes. Or is this a different queue? Hopefully "carrier bags" fans suffered some queuing, soaking and inconvenience as payback for their crap organisation at Falmer in May?
Pre seasons are about managers experimenting, trip to B&Q if that's not your thing. I was happy with the team except Garnett who I'm not sure has ever shown he's a league footballer.
The early goal was soft and if that hadn't set the tone it's possible that we could have got away with a low score.
But just unlikely. Brighton are even light years ahead of their game here 12 months ago, always likely they would win big regardless of what team we put out.
I was happy to see Thomas up front for the first time and I thought he had something about him. Camera has another lively cameo when he came on.
It's possible half the team here may start for Port Vale, think Kewell still assessing his first eleven.
Next week will see us return to more of a level playing field in class - much more meaningful which today was never likely to be.
I'm not over optimistic for the season ahead because of Kewell's inexperience and lack of reliable goal scorer. But we need to see first month or so before making any firm judgements yet.

i arrived just before 2pm and the queue was right across the car pk which was chaotic in itself woodve been better had stuarts guide it against building wall. Wasnt helped by the sheep wetting themselves waiting for falmer players to exit coach into players entrance. Really this was a shower of disorganisation and totally unacceptable. Massive own goal.

Different queue. I had prepaid online and was just collecting from the window. But there were several staff members runming up and down handing out tickets and the wait wasn't unacceptable.
The queue to purchase in the shop was much longer/slower, I'm surprised the cash window was closed.

To reiterate, too many apologists.
A can of Pepsi would've been fine, a can of sweet FA isn't.
I chose not to mention no burgers at half-time last week, my nephew charged a dreamt up price of £5 for 2 sausages in a burger bun and again, no Diet Coke in the food outlets.
Crawley Town is in the entertainment industry. They exist by selling tickets, beer and food.
In each priority area this pre-season they've fallen over in successive weeks.
Today, like more home games that I'd like to admit, I was keen to part with ticket and beer money. Sadly the club were ill-equipped to take either.
Had all the possible ticket outlets been open, combined with my late arrival, I'd have been more accepting. However, today was the equivalent of a pub on NYE having 1 bloke behind the bar.
I didnt attend but being hammered 6 -0 sets alarm bells ringing. In Keweĺls last job he was saxked after a series of 6 - 0 7- 0 and 11-0 hammerings. The truth is score lines like that scream lack of structure, organisation and fight in the team. ita only pre season so to early to react but its a very bad sign.
I see the hand dryer still hasn't been fixed but what about the stale burger buns, not entering the ground this season until that's been sorted!
If this is a sarcastic response to my comments, it's abundantly clear you've missed the point.
Did I want to pay money to CTFC to get into the ground? Yes.
DId I want to pay money to CTFC in exchange for a can of Dier Coke? Yes
Did my nephew want to pay money to CTFC in exchange for a beef burger? Yes
Did I attempt, or have the remotest interest in paying money to CTFC in exchange for hand dryer, working or otherwise? NO!
It would be preferable if the hand dryer worked, but as most people don't even wash their hands after having a wee these days, it's hardly a problem is it?
Do you think, having watchied Crawley for 36 years, that I want them to fail? I want the club to develop and grow, but getting the basics wrong on a consistent basis will ensure nothing changes.
The club needs to squeeze every penny it can out of everyone who turns up, and to do that they need to stop being a league club with a non-league mentality.
Sadly, it seems too many fans share the all too apparent apathy.
Every minute someone is queuing for a ticket, their not in the bar spending money. If it's pouring with rain and the ticket queue is the length of the pitch, people aren't going to buy a ticket or spend in the bar.
It's not rocket science is it? The ticket sales need more resource and speeding up. As I've stated previously, why on earth aren't there pre-printed tickets available for the terracing?
I appreciate seating is more difficult, but let's say there's an average of 1500 people on the South terrace each week, and 300 are STHs, the club know they will sell around 1200 additional tickets.
They'll also have the figures available to establish trends in terms of adult tickets, OAPs and kids.
They'll also know the figures for tickets sold prior to the Saturday, and as such how many adult, OAP and kids tickets they're likely to sell on matchday itself.
Armed with this info, they will have a reasonably good idea of how many of which types of tickets are still to be sold.
By printing off the estimated amounts by 1pm on a Saturday they could punt them out three or 4 times as quickly as they do now.
You could buy your pre-match pint(s) and ticket at the same time, and if a particular type of pre-printed tickets are running out, simply churn more off because the machines aren't tied up doing anything else.
Any leftovers can be quantified against the amount sold, so although 150 pieces of paper may get thrown away one week, the positve is that the club have also shifted an extra 75 pints at £3.50 each.
