Having hated their owners forever, I developed a genuine antipathy to Salford City over the close season & was euphoric at giving them a proper trousering yesterday...
...but you have actually made me mellow my attitude Alain, by sharing that view from the North. As you say - very balanced - bordering on the generous & even makes it hard to totally hate the dirty northern glory-grabbing scumbags.
Josh Doherty had come in for some critism recently - but thought he had a good game along with everyone else...
I felt that he & others have a shed a few pounds & look sharper for it... I am guessing there is a new fitness regime...(?) which was at the heart of everything yesterday, we overran them.
Stand out illustration of the point was their 1-on-1... with Pooch being our last man back, having sprinted there from just having a shot in their penalty area...!
For all his potential, Sesay does appear to have to drop a bolly every match, is he a spot TOO calm on occasions...? nothing that cannot be fixed.
I spoke to a few of their fans walking to the ground, they were of a certain vintage, definitely not JCLs & also a spot ambivalent about the circus that surrounds them.
Funnily enough, it was they who pointed out the group - entering the ground - decked out in Man U merchandising.
Truly exceptional performance and followed up for our final home game of last season where we took apart play-off Tranmere lets not forget. I thought there was pace and energy all across the park. Lubala, Bloomfield and Ferguson really upping the quality.
When you consider, Palmer, Young, Morais, Francomb, Payne and Smith were all either regular starters last season and some we would consider nailed on choices to start it shows what a bit of competition can do. Because for any of them to think about getting a starting berth they are going to have to up their game somewhat
Really positive star - coupled with us being considered unlucky v Carlisle and I would say we can start to look forward to the season with optimism rather than dread
Hello Crawley Town fans, I picked out saturdays match v Salford as a potential cracker to watch as a neutral doing the 92, and enjoyed a fantastic spectacle courtesy of Town FC , great day out , as a Bury/Bristol City fan based in Bristol, I had the pleasure of watching some great football last season at Bury matches, and Bristol City matches, with a few neutral games for good measure, this match was up there for a free flowing , quality, attacking display by the home side with several great individual performances, against one of the so called favourites, as Salford is one of the few grounds I haven’t visited yet , I might well save the reverse fixture as the one to savour , good luck for the rest of the season , I’m still waiting for the Bury season to begin , if it’s not just some kind of a bad dream
