I have no affinity whatsoever with Bury, but I hope that they do not fold today. They are a long standing football league club steeped in history with good local support. I don’t know the ins and outs but if they do fold, I think it would be both a disgrace and a disaster. Maybe some of the millions generated by Premier League clubs should be put aside each year into some form of emergency fund for things like this (it will never happen...) I guess the negative of that would be clubs knowing they can completely mess up their finances and not worrying as they would have this fund to fall back on.
i really feel for the staff, players and fans, however why should the Premier League bail them or Bolton or anyone else out? this will surely be looked on by the Premier league as the reasan the EFL should be filled with Premier League 'B' teams and could add more weight to their argument.
Best of luck to Bury today but like Notts County they have an owner who believes his own hype
Twice winners of the FA cup, a club steeped with history, a friendly club to visit. I wish them well and hope that a last minute buyer appears although it is not looking good for them.
I’d like to think as lower league fans we can all sympathise with their plight. Owner is greedy and notorious for exploiting businesses In trouble for profit. I also, do not hope they fold today, the anger and sadness would be felt in their community for a long time. I can’t imagine if it happened to us
Been keeping an eye on it , Dale has made no progress and says he does not know if the deal will be completed before the deadline. If I was a Bury fan I would start fearing the worst.

Exactly. If you live within your means there is no issue. It wasn't the PL clubs that decided Bury should be paying £8,000 pw wages. Insanity.
The rot had already set in long before Dale took over the club.
I don't recall anyone coming to our rescue during two administrations when creditors including local businesses and club employees lost money.
Really the EFL should be far more robust with the fit and proper test and exclude a lot of the cowboys in football these days.
EFL in discussion with potential new owner at Midnight, you couldnt make this saga up! EFL Twitter reporting: "We are currently in discussions with the potential purchaser and await information to allow the Board to consider a request for an extension to Friday’s deadline.”
