And had we made it through, we’d have been away to Leyton Orient….exactly one week before we’re there for the league fixture.
Indeed, and to be honest I wouldn't have fancied us to win that match anyway despite our past good record at Brisbane Road.
Two non-league sides are guaranteed to be in the third round as a result of the draw, hopefully whichever non league teams do make it that far are rewarded with the opportunity to play a Premier League team

Not sure about that. If we had won we would have been given a different number than Tranmere. Maybe if we had drawn we would have been drawn against Orient.
Such a delusional club. They are NOT the team that won the FA Cup against Liverpool. That team are now MK Dons - who don't ever claim to have won the trophy. AFC Sanctimonious were formed in 2002. I wish the dumbasses at the BBC would stop pretending otherwise. It's even more sickening than their love-in with Salford.

I think you are confusing it with the League Cup, where teams are given a ball number based on alphabetical order. In the FA Cup it is the match number of the previous round that determines the ball number ..... I think. Happy to be proved wrong.

No isn’t it tie number these days? I know in the past it was numbers based on alphabetical order so it wasn’t as straightforward as seeing who the team that knocked you out got, but these days I thought it was.

It is indeed tie number, they only do it in alphabetical order for teams that are entering the competition in that particular round, if that happens the teams that had to qualify for that round are then ordered by tie number from previous round. For example in the third round the 44 Premier League and Championship clubs are given numbers via alphabetical order, then the 20 second round winners are allocated balls numbered 45-64 which is decided by the order of the second round ties (if that makes any sense, apologies if I've confused anyone)

Thanks for the update. My wife always claims that I live in the past.
Solihull v Wigan replay warming up nicely. It's live on terrestrial TV and Solihull one up with an hour gone. Wigan starting to turn the screw. Absorbing stuff.
