Thought it would be interesting to mention that this coming weekend is the 4th qualifying round for this season's FA Cup, with the first round draw happening next Monday (which is of course when we will enter)
Some clubs worth keeping an eye out for that are still in it are our training ground tenants Horsham, ambitious local non-league side Dorking Wanderers and Marine (who played Tottenham back in January)
What kind of draw are you all hoping to get and how far do you think the team can go this season? I reckon a trip to Wembley in April would be very nice ... More seriously, I would love to make the 3rd round and play a decent Premier League team
Seeing as we are out of both the EFL cup and the Pizza trophy at the first hurdles, I’d like to see us get a win or two in this cup this year!
If we can make the 3rd round that would be awesome. And if not, I’d hope for a good home match against the likes of a Wigan/Sunderland or something. I wonder if there are replays this year after a draw or straight to penalties?
They are doing replays this year, which I think is a bit surprising as I thought it worked well last season without them
After last years debacle I’m not confident the non league season will finish so this may come back to bite them, league season should be fine as the precedent was set last year.
I think there's no reason I don't see the non league season finishing properly to be honest considering how many people have now been double vaccinated plus hospital rates are nothing like they were a year ago.
Think replays should have been permanently done away with though, all they do nowadays is clog up the fixture schedule and having the games going to extra time straight away makes them more exciting and gives the underdog a better chance of progressing, as 9 times out of 10 the higher ranked team wins the replay. Plus imagine if say last season's game vs Torquay finished at full time without that dramatic extra time period?
Also if clubs are relying on the lottery of earning a replay against a larger club as a source of income then they really need to rethink their business model

At Burgess Hill last week in the FA trophy they went straight to penalties after it was 1-1 at full time. I think that is the way forward for all cup competitions.

Oh yeah I completely forgot ITV have replaced BT as co-broadcasters this season alongside BBC
Even though I'm generally not a fan of ITV football coverage it's good that all the live games are being shown on free to air TV. Won't be able to watch the draw though as I'm out on the golf course at that time

Lets not also forget another Sussex club in this weekends 4th qualifying round - Hastings United. Be great if we drew Horsham or Hastings in the 1st round proper!
If my memory serves me correctly and hopefully fellow forum fans can confirm - I think when we reached the 3rd round proper as a non-league team in the 91/92 season, we played Horsham away in the 4th qualifiyng round and drew 0-0, before winning the replay 3-0 at Town Mead that set us up for a home tie in the first round proper against league opposition in Northampton?

could be chaotic if we drew Horsham away with demand for tickets

Yes that is Davide Rodari's former club
I saw this article about them on the BBC earlier today too
