I’m skeptical Evans would be able to revive the magic from his last spell and his last few jobs have hardly been great. Hasn’t really done much since leaving Rotherham over 5 years ago. Tisdale took a long time to bring success to Exeter- times have changed I don’t think the owners will want a 5 year project. Don’t know who half the others are. Owners choice will be telling where their tenure is going.
Yes I think Evans has become something of a busted flush, not won a promotion for 8 seasons now. Plus in light of another post on this board, his appointment might seem highly dubious and pose a lot of questions.

Evans might be considered to be too controversial, with not only the way he left us for Rotherham but the corruption scandal at Boston United and his reputation for being an abrasive figure
I'm sure he'd want something a bit higher up but would it be worth at least asking the question to Mark Warburton? Just got binned by QPR rather harshly, and said in an interview with the Independent today: "Not to sound flippant about money but that’s not what it is for me. I’m lucky to be okay. I’ve paid my mortgage. But I’d be a very, very unhappy man if I was sat twiddling my thumbs or playing golf every day. I like responsibility, I like to be challenged so, if an offer came in tomorrow, as long as it was the right one, then fantastic."
You want a challenge, Mark? We are certainly that.
Lost his biggest job in (English) football because he had constant arguments over the introduction of analytics for player recruitment with Brentford owner Matthew Benham.
So rate the chances of this one at small. I don't think we'll be getting an "old school" manager, at least not one unwilling to bend to the modern ways or at least say they will

Aren't we the bees knees now!! suddenly a club people want to be associated with! Maybe we will get a bigger scoreboard, hand driers that work, a realistic ticket price and a catering facility that doesn't mean leaving the game at 35 minutes to be back JUST in time for second half kickoff..... then we will be a club to join!!
Andy Woodman surely would have been to Crawley a few times to watch his son Freddie play. Another decent shout in the Rusk mould as having spent time in coaching roles at Prem clubs soaking up the modern methods whil also getting his hands dirty lower in the pyramid

I think he would be more suitable than Rusk to be honest, as he's not done badly at Bromley considering their budget

Rusk's record in the Premier League 2 (U23) was truly outstanding, regularly beating the bigger and better funded academies but it's not the kind of thing that gets huge press coverage

I was thinking too, a couple of our players may have worked previously with him at Brighton (Davies and Tilley)
Hi everyone. New to the message board. Want to throw a new name in to the mix.....The former assistant manager of Forest Green Rovers and current assistant manager at Swindon Town, Scott Lindsey. Having seen a fair bit of both clubs while working in the west country, the possession based football the clubs played was so good to watch. Could be a option if they wanted to be the number one at an EFL club.
I’m not sure Simon Rusk is the answer. His one and only spell as a manager in first team football at non league Stockport didn’t work out. Would be a big risk. He has played for the club and was down the road Brighton as U23 manager so will probably have some good contacts at Brighton to help us bring in some promising youngsters from Brighton. Don’t like the sound of this Woodman geezer some random National League manager. Most of our recent managerial appointments haven’t set the world alight. I don’t know what to expect from the new owners quite frankly. They might pull a left field appointment out.
Until the greatest of - I GIVE YOU MR STEVE EVANS returns I give you Lewis Young, not the greatest tactician the game has ever had in fact probably one of the worst but he claps the fans, no seriously he was one of the greatest players the club has ever had, so he has my respect and support. Dream team would Evans and Young as assistant. Evans would make sure he knew what he was doing.

Evans would be a great appointment. If anyone deserve the job, it has to be him.
www.bettingodds.com/thesackrace/teams/crawley-town The list game me a good laugh. Sol Campbell serious he is on the list! Tisdale NO THANK YOU! Andy Woodman what a gamble of stupidity that would be. Owen Coyle 25/1 Im sure that should be 25 million to 1 FFS this list is full clowns. FFS GIVE STEVE EVANS THE JOB!
