Get in! Couldn't be there tonight sadly but sounds like it was a much improved performance. Interesting that almost all the outfield players who started were here last season, wonder if that made for a bit more cohesion.
Either way, fantastic stuff lads. Should give everyone a massive and much-needed boost.
3 Shots on Target. A Big Improvement! But Unfortunately the Mickey Mouse Cup does not reveal anything because half the teams and half the players DONT GET UP FOR IT. We will know more this time next Tuesday!
Definitely an improved performance. We looked much more threatening going forward and could’ve scored 2 or 3. Rovers were no mugs and went close on a few occasions. A step in the right direction. Let’s do one better and win a league game now.
There was some lovely interchanges going on. Francomb as rwb and Nazeed as lwb were really good. The three at the back coped with their forward line really well and Addai had a good, competent game in goal.
This is still a work in progress though. We were still too slow with our play out from the back and too many times we got the ball all the way forward just to pass it all the way back and put ourselves under pressure. Any team that grabs a lead against us will sit in the shape because our play is slow enough to allow them to get back if we do break the lines.
It was a vast improvement from the league games and hopefully it will lift a big weight off the shoulders for everyone. Hopefully we will get a decent draw in the next round (personally would like Fulham away as I really like the ground)

That's not in line with your earlier comments as it seems we fielded a "weaker" side with Rovers a strong side. Also, seems we played a different style, AND TC started. How's your theories now 57(never been) away?
Big improvement over the last 2 games - much higher tempo. Still need to work on some of the passes through to the forwards. Hess and Craig had really good games, I thought, getting stuck in hard and relishing some of their challenges! Nadders worked very hard. In general the team seemed like they wanted to prove a point. Some good distribution from Corey and he looks competent in the air..
Great win, shame I couldnt be there; looking forward to 16th August and a home league win with a game at Harrogate...back to back and we are back on track!

It was a tight game - we had much the better of the first half, 3-4 good chances including Nichols missing a sitter.
Bristol started the second half the stronger and themselves had 2-3 really good chances to score. Then Nichols goal broke the game and we held them off to the end, as Orient did to us on Saturday.
That’s my feeling - we edged a tight game tonight, we lost a tight game on Saturday. That’s football. We shouldn’t have a huge schizophrenic swing of thinking it’s the end of the world with one of those results or that we are bloody brilliant with the other. We’re a work in progress, Betsy is looking at his players and finding his best combinations. Tonight he made a bit of progress but he needs time and space to make more, even if we drop games.
My greatest pleasure tonight wasn’t just the win but seeing our fans getting behind the team in a united way. That’s the way forward to help a young manager still right at the start of his career
