If you are not being selected and have little chance of playing where will the motivation be?
To a squad of 22 is needed 2 players for each position plus a reserve keeper, the wages we must be paying will be huge.
I’m sure we had this discussion about a bloated squad plenty of times last season too. The reality is back then there were plenty of development players who Yems judged not ready for League 2, whether he was right or wrong, it was his call to make.
The problem is that now we have these development players playing in the first team that Yems would have never played. Now look where we are when we have all these youngsters in the team! Obviously they're not the same youngsters as last year, but the point still stands that this is why you don't play all the development players at once as this is what you get!
As I've said before Mr Betsy is an Academy coach and in Div2 you need a motivational manager such as a certain Mr Evans who has taken Stevenage to second place in the league early days I know but we are second from bottom, your choice!
Point taken jb about the injuries, but when the players are fit we have too many players. In my mind we should be promoting from the B team to show that there is a path to the first team.
Kevin has already had longer than the Rochdale boss. Sacked already. It's unrealistic you'll ever get everyone in agreement and totally behind the team all the time. We also love a good ole moan. Part of being British isnt it? I very much doubt Kevin will be under any pressure at all unless we are in the drop zone or thereabouts after Christmas. We have far far far too much quality in the squad and we'll come good. Why not start Saturday? We are getting forward more, creating more chances and with a bumoer crowd if we can get behind thd lads Im sure we can lift them to a much needed win. Would set things up very well for Fulham. COYR.
But I'm a little worried there may be something else going with Betsy that hasn't happened with previous managers in recent years at least. Is he copping a lot of flak from people who don't like the new owners and don't like what's happened with the Yems situation? Exaggerating any current problems to an absurd degree as a little bit of payback to the club? That would be a very sad situation for Kevin Betsy if so, as he obviously had nothing to do with how the job became vacant, nor did the new players or our longer established ones.
I haven’t posted on here for a little while and I’ve made no secret about the fact that I did not like the way that JY was treated. In my view, for all their apparent openness and approachability in other ways, the new owners behaved a great deal less than honourably in that matter. However, although there may be people who have a grudge against them and KB over this, as far as I’m concerned I have no issue with KB at all over that and all the while he is Crawley Town manager I will want him to succeed.

Nice one, that’s a very principled position of you to take.
The chants though were “we want our club back”, I think this gives the game away what certainly “a part” of the current unhappiness is all about, some kind of belief that the new owners have changed the club in an unacceptable way, like all those cheaper season tickets and so on.
The football yesterday was certainly poor but again very similar to a lot of disappointing home defeats last season that didn’t get a similar reaction
Unsurprisingly we have a low xG and are one of the slowest teams in the league.
Notable that Salford are basically playing the same style, but a bit quicker.
And of course Salford appointed a Premier League academy manager.
Yesterday was a superb day at the Broadfield for a young 19 year old Academy player on loan from a Premier League club with hardly any Football League experience. Shame his name was Nathan Young-Coombes

What polish are you using today, Steve? Kiwi, Cherry Blossom?

Make no secret I would have loved Big Steve back here if short term success was the aim. But I think the owners are attempting a long term rebuilding of what we are about. The 2 year time frame for success was probably good foresight as we may have plenty of growing pains here before we get properly competitive towards the top. I thought the journey would be interesting but there you go

A much more pleasant metaphor Jim! but I honestly do think the silent majority of fans take a more long termist view than the shouty loud objectors. Feel free to interrogate me on the individual points I make as I would be genuinely interested in your view even though you may be critical
One thing though. How many of those chanting were season tickets holders? I and others got a great deal on season tickets but if you're a pay on the day type (just as important in my book) they got a whole pound off. I bet the didn't know whether to buy a black jack or a fruit salad!
A bit picky and said with tongue firmly in cheek but not everybody has done as well out of the new pricing as me.
I too at first was very happy with the reduction of the cost of my season ticket and with all the hype predicting a new future but in the second half I really felt miserable watching how disorganised our side was and looking at our numerous management and backroom staff looking at sheets of paper,I couldn't wait for the game to end,was I the only one?

No.
I have never booed the team and I have never left a game early (and never will) but when Tony Craig was sent off I was ready to go and was in a similar frame of mind - the sooner the game is finished the better. I did notice that Betsy spent a good deal of time in the dugout in the second half with two others reading what I thought was an ipad or similar, rather than sheets of paper.

KEVIN BETSY'S RED ARMY!
It’s funny you should say that because I felt the same. In all my years watching CTFC, I’ve never left early and the last time I even considered doing so was way back in Southern League times when Andy Little got sent off at Bath and we got pasted 7-0. Saturday was painful to watch and I just didn’t see any way we were going to get back into it. I also didn’t want to be around to watch that bloody lot up the other end celebrating at full time. As it happens I didn’t leave until the game finished. I hope lessons will be learned about faffing around with the ball at the back and that we put Saturday’s performance behind us tomorrow evening.
