No, I will never boo my team, ever. I feel quite sorry for the players having to work to a system that is unsuited to them and to league 2. Tip-tap has its place at all levels, but there appears to be no plan B. Betsy's managerial inexperience at this level is showing through, but I didn't have high expectations to start with. I don't wish him gone and I'm okay with settling for a mediocre season - so long as it doesn't involve a relegation scrap in the final weeks. But if things are looking very dark come Christmas, we may need to oust him so that a new manager has time to look at who's available. I think the players are okay for the most part but it's unfair on them to have to play a way they can't (yet?). That first goal was an appalling giveaway. The only positive was they kept trying even when a player short. For that I applaud them. Betsy needs a plan B. EDIT: I got so frustrated I called out "It's not f***ing subbuteo." Oops!
NGL that was an excruciating watch. The passing was not up to standard most of the time and the two goals were easily avoidable
Personally I thought a lot of the chanting was very off and actually made things worse and I would only ever resort to booing if I thought the players couldn't give a damn, which I definitely didn't think was the case today. However I do believe we need to rip up the book regarding the tactics and style and go for a more direct, pressing style as that I think would work much better with these players. The current style I think is outdated as it would have worked 10 years ago maybe but not today with many teams getting more influenced by the German 'gegenpress' style and more direct methods.
I'd be interested to know which manager the ones who think we should press the button would pick? I'm of the opinion that it's still early and Betsy should get a few more games at least but if the nuclear option was to be activated I would be tempted by David Artell. Hopefully that doesn't happen though as I really want Kevin Betsy to succeed here

Do you think bringing in an experienced DoF could help Betsy out? I did hear talk about one being appointed over the summer but haven't heard anything
What we've got now is a total mess. A manager who's blow the budget on a load of academy players that aren't ready to play proffesional football and who doesn't know his best team and who's whole coaching phliosphy is only suited to Premier League and acadamey football and American owners who look like they still go to college frat parties and have only just started calling football football not socer let alone have a club about owning and overseeing an English football league club.
So a new Manager coming in will have about 20 of the Yems squad who were given new deals, plus 17/18 players signed by Betsy. Bit tricky. Best translated as - start planning for next season.
Thankfully, I have a half-hour drive home to calm down and reflect a bit.
Today we were awful in many areas. As much as I thought Powell had a good game on Tuesday, he had an absolute shocker today - missed passes, poor tackles and gave the ball away.
I rate Corey and think he’ll probably play at a higher level, but to be caught out twice in two matches with similar free kicks is poor - he needs to learn quickly. Other clubs will pick up on those sort of things and probably the plastics did just that today.
The young players have a huge learning curve and need to improve rapidly. I get that we have a number of senior players out injured, but we desperately need a tough midfield general to organise things.
I refuse to boo the players - I don’t think it helps one bit during the match and I don’t think its time for Betsy to go, but he’s got a lot of work to do.

I’m starting to think that the aim for this will be to simply stay up the way it’s going. I hoped for play offs or promotion, but expected us to finish at least mid table. I don’t think the manager has a clue who his best team are yet and it could take a while to find that out.
Addai- 5 could’ve maybe done a bit better with one or both of those goals. Too casual in possession again.
Adebowale- 4 too sloppy in possession and didn’t impose himself on the game
Craig- 5 thought he looked our only decent defender winning some headers until 2 rash challenges gave us a mountain to climb
Omole- 5 beaten in the challenge too often and doesn’t impose himself on the game
Hess- 5 game passed him by. What did he do?
Powell- 4 too slow and ponderous in possession. Didn’t make many forward passes
Jenks- 5 doesn’t look ready yet for pro football. Some Nice passes, but doesn’t impose himself on the game
Ogungbo- 3 after some encouraging performances he had a real shocker today. Kept giving the ball away and barley passed the ball forward. Too sloppy and casual in possession. No urgency to his play.
Nichols- 6 tried at least to make things happen, but was on a hiding to nothing dropping into midfield with no one to pass to up front
Nadesan-5 style of play really doesn’t suit him, he needs balls in behind to run onto and he struggled to make any impact
Balagizi-6.5 consistently try’s to make things happen, but not a lot came off for him today
SUBS-
Tilley- 7 always looking to get on the ball and make things happen, tried to play forward and create, but often no one making forward runs to pass to
Ransom- 6.5 put himself about and tried to at least get stuck in and pass the ball forward from the back. Might be worth giving him a run in the team
Bremang- 4 a thankless task up front on his own with 10 men, but he needed to do more and he didn’t win much against their defenders
Telford- he was in for a few minutes at the end so can’t give a rating on him

Booing the players I feel is totally deconstructive and will only make the situation worse (unless in truly exceptional cases where the team is full of mercenaries, such as for example Aston Villa 2015/16).
I 100% agree regarding the midfield, we need a proper badass in there who can do a bit of everything, wind up the opponents and help get the team well organised. Someone similar to Bradford's Richie Smallwood

Exactly the kind of player we need in midfield is the exact opposite of Betsy’s style of player I feel and that is a concern for me.

its simple Simon you get a manager in thats knows how to play L2 football. What manager starts off with a fresh set of his players. No many.
Booing players and managers is something I've never done but I can't really criticise those who did today. To play how we did today against our local rivals was just not acceptable.
I said earlier that if we try to play out from the back we will have to accept that we will get caught in possession and give away goals. It happens to Brighton, and the gap in the quality of players they have compared to ours is large, it will happen! Having said that the players do not seem to have faith in what they are trying to do. How many times did we see them play out of trouble then turn round and start again? Some players more than others didn't seem to feel they were allowed to pass forwards even when there was a clear chance to progress. It pains me to say it but that lack of belief can only come from the manager.
The overall performance of the team and the individual players was very poor. There is only one player I will excempt from blame today and that is Hess. If you play out of position to help out you get a free pass. Other than him they need to return their wages.
At the end I was still clapping, trying to encourage the players. Never once joined in the chants of 'we want our Yems back' or 'you're getting sacked in the morning'
I dont know what else to say.

I’m with you here Jim, but for the first time this season, I found it hard to justify these actions. Did you not doubt yourself, not even for one second??

So simple that in 10 years since Evans left we have had 10 managers and now people are saying we should move on to number 11. Most of them were able to bring in their own players, none of them inherited two squads.
