Spot on. No-one knew it was good natured and celebratory till after it happened, by which time it could’ve been too late.
Watch the video on SkySports, there’s a few trying to goad Rodak the goalkeeper, one gets very close and appears to make contact. As soon as the whistle went and people ran on I looked to see that the Fulham players got off safely (though I may have had a vested interest🫢). Plus several headed straight down the other end towards the away fans, thankfully there was a line of police/stewards. Quite amusing really, one of them continued to talk to one of the police officers - wonder how that conversation went😂🤔
This access all areas is a really good viewing, it made me feel even closer to the football club I have grown to love more and more each day. Thank you CTFC for one of the greatest moments ever in football. I have heard reports about it being only Fulham and all the change and so on. This was more than beating a PL team and we can only beat what's in front of us. This was a true coming together of fans, players, club officials and everyone connected with the club. After one of the worst starts to a season I can ever remember, we outplayed Fulham, We were class, we were everything we have not been this season and if Kevin really means as he said near the end this - that this is the standard; the way we will approach and play the rest of the season then we wont need to worry about relegation, we wont need to concern ourselves with improving our league position last season, or getting on the play offs, or automatic promotion. We will go up as champions. Against Fulham we were champions. I will never forget this momentous match.
Have to say I'm a bit annoyed by all this current furore about pitch invasions. Just because one group of fans elsewhere behaves like total bellends and attacks players, another entirely seperate group of fans shouldn't be held responsible for that just because they want to celebrate in a good humoured way. This is how politicians and Establishment nobs have always treated football fans, it's collective punishment for all of us rather than punishing the individuals who do bad shit. We are all just a faceless, amorphous lump of proles to them to be condemned and punished in the same way
Easy to say Steve but what if the stewards hadn't stopped some of the more excited fans from getting to the Fulham end? An earlier post from Alex I think said it would have been nice for everybody if players could have gone around the pitch - I agree - much better than having chaos which is always likely to lead to trouble. (Proles or not!)
I understand your view and I should clarify I’d never go on the pitch myself and sighed when I saw it happening. But I’m just appealing for a more live and let live approach and particularly some common sense from officialdom to not go overboard about it. If the FA wanted to do something about this issue, target the clubs with violence records with extra stewarding requirements, but don’t pretend the ones with no record of that are causing a huge crisis in the game, it’s just the latest media fuelled bandwagon
