A friend of mine pointed out an interesting/worrying stat.
Since Yems was removed we have 1 win in 15 (yes fifteen!) games. That's 7 points all told. That's just about a third of a season and if you multiply that through it would be 21 points for the season!
It's easy to blame managers/owners and the squad was totally demoralised when Yems was removed. That explains away the end of last season but that is what I seem to be doing. Finding excuses for what's happening.
We can't blame wagmi. They have increased the budget. Yeah, they have some silly ideas (but if it makes us some cash I can live with that)
Maybe the extra cash coming in has taken the players eye off the ball?
Maybe Betsy is complete rubbish?
Truth is, I don't know but someone needs to get in and shake the club by the scruff of the neck, refocus on what is important and turn this shambles around.

Hopefully that’s what our new director of football is for… Let’s get Rob Edwards in or another experienced league 1/2 manager and salvage this season. We all know the squad has quality. Quality that Yems along with our injury trouble, managed to get them to play to the best of their ability. As someone else pointed out we are missing two of our players but yesterday’s team would mostly be the players in the first eleven last season anyway and we have been in all our games this season quite simply poor, players look deflated and there’s no tactical plan that makes sense it’s just pass sideways and backwards. He needs to go today.
Just sack Betsy and we can all move on. We are looking at National league football next season otherwise. The club will be finished. Betsy is destroying OUR club. He has to go.
Betsy went on about how he is having to sort out the mess from last season in his interview when we finished 12th with a very low budget. Well, what about sorting out the problems and the mess he has caused with his academy management ideas. Over double the budget signed 17-19 players who he said were world beaters where are they just not good enough to get in the team. He has now had to revert to last year's players who he did not want and playing his way we have managed to accrue 6 point from 33. Even last years players don't look like they are enjoying playing his way. At the start of the season people said he need time to gel the team give them 10 games well he's had 11 and the performances are no better. So he has to go and give someone the chance and time to be able turn it round. So make a decision Preston I know its not nice sacking people but for the good of the club BETSY HAS TO GO.
I suppose the argument today would be that Betsy more or less played a team of last season's players bar 2. The same team achieved more points than we are on track to achieve so what has changed? The style of play today was decidedly more last season than 'play it out from the back. I do think the league is harder with teams like Barrow, Stevenage and others raising their game so achieving the same as last year, if we had stuck with last year's set up, would have been challenging.
That’s an interesting point but I don’t think last season’s team would have beaten this Stevenage team if a ref had disallowed our penalty shout and awarded theirs. If you remember, last season we also had at least 3 or 4 match turning decisions by referees and I don’t remember us overcoming them. The Exeter game at home still ranks as the worst I’ve ever seen, we were the better team but we lost thanks to the ref. It’s very much the same as the Palace Chelsea game yesterday, a game given to Chelsea by the ref, the Chelsea player making the equaliser who should earlier have been red carded. Same as Baker Richardson a few weeks ago.
Of course you can’t use the excuse of refs across an entire season and Betsy was clear about that in the post match video. But to get the luck evening out across the season, you need the season! Or at least a fair chunk of it. Not 11 games.

For me it was a penalty yesterday, some may say harsh. But on watching it back Nicholas Tsaroulla did lean towards the ball with his arm by his side. First half completely out fought, out managed. I want to watch my team show me they care, I believed the system/style does aid the player to show this. You have Powell receiving to ball in the centre back position, tries to play a Hollywood ball, gets cut out/cleared and we are left with poor old Jake in the midfield on his todd trying to pick up the second balls. League 2 is all about second balls/regains. KB has talked about high press!! How can you high press if your midfielder’s are miles apart and you if you press individually you get played around.
However I do feel for KB, he has no one above or around him with any league football know how(LY is probably the closest to that but can imagine he isn’t really utilised for this). He is a young manager going through a very tough time. Would you call up the owners and talk about football matters? NO! Would you call the new DOF for advice? Yeah probably if I needed IT assistance, but on any football matter? NO!!
With the quality in squad and the budget we have now we shouldn’t be in this situation. For KB to come out and try and use excuses of sorting the infrastructure out is BS. Last year we had the same problems if not worse but we competed on the pitch regardless of off field matters.
League 2 is all about hard work, character, personality and game management.(maybe a top goal scorer, which apparently we sign in Dom Telford)
No more excuses, we have all the tools available to be at the top end but something just isn’t clicking.

In life, you need to make your own "Luck".

You do indeed but that requires you being given the opportunity to do so
Having players that are capable to play the game at EFL level for a start. If and that’s a big IF, the player’s were coached properly, then, the play wouldn’t be in our own penalty box to concede.
But how can two handballs be down to coaching? You think the manager is training them to handle the ball?
Agreed they aren’t being coached to handle the ball in the Penalty box, but they are not being coached how to manage a game. In every game up and down the country the opposition are on top. You can manage this period with organisation, team work and hard graft. We are not unlucky, it’s just the fact that if the opposition enter our penalty box so freely as they do, then the percentage of giving away penalties is higher. We aren’t set up well. We don’t defend as a team.
All said I did think the Ransom penalty at Doncaster was a bit soft.
How many penalties have Crawley conceded so far this season?
Surely they’re not all down to “bad luck?”
I would think it would be down to poor coaching, team set up and having the players capable playing at the current level of EFL football.

The penalty last week was a travesty. If you are not prepared to back your team when that happens but just want to ignore that injustice because you think it harms a manager you don’t like, then you are in a bad place.
The pen given yesterday was more 50 50 but was identical to one we didn’t get in the first half. Ignoring stuff like that smacks of an agenda
Can anyone answer why KB waited till the 86th to make his substitutions, what chance have they of making any impact just shows hope out of his depth he is. He has been struggling since the season began I hope he was a quick learner but he is not improving or motivating the team. I think he has been given every chance to show how good a manager he is and he has not shown any improvement in the teams performance. He only has one way to go and that's goodbye.
