The only obvious difference I can see is Steve Evans took over Stevenage, made a load of signings and they have gone from 21st last season to 3rd this season.
Kevin Betsy took over Crawley, made a load of signings and we have gone from 12th last season to 22nd this season.
Sadly unless there is a new rule that the league table is to be turned upside down only one of the above has a chance of going up this season...
All I'm saying is, I'm so glad I've finally lived long enough on this planet to read you saying something praiseworthy about Steve Evans? I'd have said the odds on you doing that one day with Kevin Betsy are probably much more favourable than that!
You need to dig about a bit more then on this and the old ctfc.net forum.
yes we gave Steveage a run for their money after a somewhat fortunate equalisee..but games are played over 90 minutes.in that time Stevenage to summarise were tge better team...preoared and in application.
This. We got beaten by the better side - which has been the story of our L2 season.
Has there been a single league game where we had more shots than the opposition? Not even Stockport which we won....
Listen to any of Betsys after match FA speak interviews then go to YouTube and listen to today's Steve Evans post match interview you will not see a fat ignorant oaf but an eloquent talking sensible manager that Betsy unfortunately isn't.

Not once in 11 games have we have more shots on target than the opponents. In one game we did have more total shots though!
This is shots stats. Opponents 166 shots @ 15.09 per game 62 shots on target @ 5.64 per game
Crawley 87 shots @ 7.9 per game 29 shots on target @ 2.63 per game
Nothing to do with Lady Luck, these stats confirm what we all know, we’ve not been good enough and if anything we are lucky to have 6 points on the board.
It's unfortunate that you want to make those of us who want to give the manager a bit more time - a perfectly respectable position still shared by a lot of fans - sound like oddballs. It's actually still a very balanced debate among fans but as soon as you go into the online world everything gets amped up in very extreme ways.
While going into the ground on Saturday I met a guy who was very anti Betsy and wanted him gone and we had a quick chat, agreed to disagree and then wished each other a good day watching the game. I saw him afterwards in the bar and he then said to me how well he thought we'd played in the second half and that Betsy would be unlucky to be fired on the back of that performance. Those for me are the kind of real world discusssions that tend to take place at the ground - when people log on, that kind of balance tends to disappear
It is because Steve is Affiliated to the Club! He is also a Relative of Tony Craig! I am sure he Joined the Forum on nearly the same date as Tony Craig Signed Up. Despite CTFC Conceding 1.89 Goals EVERY Time Tony Craig has Started a League Game, he still backs Tony Craig! He Still Backs Betsy! He Probably Still Backs Josh Davies! Lets Get Joel Lynch as Player Manager for Gord Sakes!
This thread needed a bit of light relief, so thank you. To sum up, I'm related to Tony Craig, I am Kevin Betsy's agent, I am Josh Davies's long-lost dad (does he mean Archie Davies - who knows?) and am generally f'ing busy with all of that
Ha so Mike Tyson was actually ripping off Von Moltke? "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth"
"Steve", besides practically residing on every page and second post of this forum, why do you try so hard ( and signally fail), to show us how you are a well-read "humorist", dispassionate, tremendously even- handed and an all- round guru and superior bloke; you actually have an ego problem.
Fair enough? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I can only say I have no opinion of you at all, good or bad. Live and let live I say
I had a winning mentality. I could make lots of excuses (not having a keeper definitely didn't help) but the bottom line is the team (players and manager) wasn't good enough.
At the moment we have to face the fact that Crawley are not good enough.
Jim Baker
So what departments do you think we are not good enough in?
Players? Manager? Coaching? Mentality? Owners? Recruitment? All of the above?
Players 6 points from 33 = not good enough Manger 6 points from 33= not good enough Coaching 6 points from 33 = not good enough.
Look, you can see where I'm going from here. Anyway you shake a stick at it we haven't been good enough. One you did leave off though.
Supporters. Every time a team scores against us. Shout Betsy out = not good enough. In the bars and pubs and even after the game but not during it.

Was he wearing a “Betsy Out” T-shirt? No one is interested in hearing your imaginary friend conversations.
It cracks me up that you are so far gone with this angry online campaigning that you can't conceive it's possible that someone can be against the manager but still think we did OK in the second half - incredible stuff
Just as an aside I was introduced to Steve in Redz after the game. Had a chat, discussed the game...agreed on somethings, disagreed on others.
C'est la vie
Jim Baker
Good chat it was Jim, many thanks, look forward to more. How did you find the mood in the bar generally? Of course it wasn't that happy after a defeat but I thought it was a little more calmer/pragmatic/reflective than what some would imagine -- if those some did indeed believe this forum is representative of Crawley fans

Alarming stats. The owners seemed to like all these analysis, well what is your reaction Preston?
