How many penalties have Crawley conceded so far this season?
Surely they’re not all down to “bad luck?”
I would think it would be down to poor coaching, team set up and having the players capable playing at the current level of EFL football.

The penalty last week was a travesty. If you are not prepared to back your team when that happens but just want to ignore that injustice because you think it harms a manager you don’t like, then you are in a bad place.
The pen given yesterday was more 50 50 but was identical to one we didn’t get in the first half. Ignoring stuff like that smacks of an agenda
Sorry Steve, I can’t agree that the penalty was 50 50. From where I was standing on the BW Terrace I couldn’t see what happened but looking at the footage and gutting as it was, I don’t think there is any doubt that it was a penalty. But you are right - we should have had one as well. No surprise that we didn’t given the way the officials performed but no amount of complaining now can change that. I have openly said that I was disgusted with the way Yems was treated but that doesn’t mean I have any agenda against KB and I desperately wanted him to succeed. Sadly, the fact that he has supposedly spent a lot of money on bringing in all the new players yet yesterday’s starting line up comprised 9 of last year’s squad suggests to me that the money has not been spent very wisely. Before the season started, KB said he knew what it took to get out of League 2. From what I have seen so far, I can’t help having doubts about that.
Can anyone answer why KB waited till the 86th to make his substitutions, what chance have they of making any impact just shows hope out of his depth he is. He has been struggling since the season began I hope he was a quick learner but he is not improving or motivating the team. I think he has been given every chance to show how good a manager he is and he has not shown any improvement in the teams performance. He only has one way to go and that's goodbye.
Quite, Barker used to always wait until the 80th minute and by then it was too late.
I agree you make your own luck.If you allow the opposition 22 shots against you, I know they weren't all on target or great attempts, but 22 shots massively increases your chance of a lucky deflection or a handball. It's a pattern, every game the opposition has usually double the number of shots, even the Stockport game which we won! Credit to us we had 13 shots against Stevenage and had quite a few blocked which is a definite improvement, but giving the opposition that many chances gives all the control and 'luck' to the opposition. It shows something is not working when we're out of possession which Betsy does refer to a lot. In terms of luck, it's been mixed. We've scored quite a few deflected goals which may not have been goals otherwise, Stockport GAVE us a goal, we got 2 pens against Portsmouth, the sending offs have all been fair. Yeah, the Doncaster penalty was harsh but the others are all in the category of 'seen them given, seen them not'. Overall, can't complain too much. Sadly the fact is, at present we are a league 2 side that can't compete with the aerial threat, organisation and aggression of the average league 2 side, yet we don't have the quality to outplay these teams with the ball on the deck. That leaves us in limbo, causes anxiety and I insecurity amongst players and fans...and that's where we stand today. We were promised, and I quote Betsy 'Attacking, aggressive and adaptable' football. Forget our league position, Betsy has failed to deliver on the style of football he believes in.

Have you ever played the game, Steve?

Ok let’s get your “expert” view on some of the basics. The Doncaster penalty decision, definite or rough decision?
JY will be fully exonerated by the end of this working week, I hope everyone is proud. CTFC politely ask JY back to rescue this season 👍👍
As you know Armchair, I like to see a fair & just outcome… but am compelled to qualify your comment of “total vindication”, unfortunately I feel it is too premature to predict that specific outcome.
As I had been away for a few weeks, I spoke to JY on Monday to see if any progress had been made. I formed the distinct impression - please do not take this as gospel - at that stage the FA were becoming increasingly dismissive of the - by far - most damaging of the accusations... and that is very welcome news.
But JY still faces other accusations, from those that felt that they were not selected because of the prejudice of JY (rather interesting when you see the team selected yesterday) and comments & actions that left certain individuals hurt & offended. So it is unlikely to all be over for JY, he is a big boy & looks forward to answering his critics (actually, he can’t wait).
With regard to him rejoining the club, he never mentioned the possibility, and he knows that I would tell him to run a mile… although he has never ever followed my advice on anything. Hey-ho as an expert on christian tolerance & forgiveness, maybe the club chaplain could broker a deal between the two parties…(?)
I just do not trust the owners and will ask you all to ponder this: The segregation accusation was about a policy at Crawley Town FC. the club they had quite literally just purchased, following a 16 week due diligence process… they were in a perfect position to kill any speculation at source… they chose not to… and we all know too well what they actually did post… with no regard to the spirit & stability that was present when they arrived...
…and on a professional level, that apparent lack of scrutiny is also evident with their "surprise" at legacy funding issues... which must raise questions from their investors. In that climate it is easy to see the attraction of appointing someone who is a proven quantity - not just at THIS level... but at THIS club...!

Fine, you’re agreeing with my fundamental point that we were robbed by the ref as we should have had a penalty as well? You are free to think what you like about Betsy, that’s another discussion. What I find distasteful is some people ignoring obvious bad decisions that the club is suffering because it favours their axe grinding against Betsy. Fair play you don’t do that
Yeah come on let’s all put our games on the table!
OK.
If, I played at the top of my game, I might, just might, have made the Crawley & District division 2.
My managerial experience consists of 3 games where I lost all three and had a gd of something like 3-15.
With that in mind I feel fully qualified to give my views on what I'm watching.

So you didn’t have a “winning mentality” and set your team up to win? Under 23 sides are coached to try and play the “Man City way” and if you win, lose or draw, then it doesn’t matter as long as you played to the style set out by the man at the top. Betsy recruited these players that HE deemed good enough to ply their trade in the EFL and know what, they don’t know how to win, because it has never mattered to them. Drummy tried with the likes of Andre Blackman, Mitch Beeney and Alex Davey to name a few and failed. Where are those Duds now?
