No to Lewis Young we need someone with more experience at this level for when things get tough .
I agree. By all means leave him in charge for the time being, and certainly while the team is winning, but don't give him the job permanently unless the good run continues till the spring.

LY needs to keep the good run up until Spring? At that rate he'll be replacing Gareth Southgate!

Yeah we should make the most of this new (caretaker) manager bounce, but I agree that this isn't proving to me that Youngy should get it permanently. You see stuff like this all the time in football, just look at Villa yesterday.
One of my worries, aside from the fact he has even less managerial experience than Betsy, is that if you appointed Lewis permanently and it didn't work out, he'd also have to leave permanently. While he is still in the infancy of his coaching career, I'd like to keep him as part of the backroom staff for as long as we can, unless he wants to go and manage somewhere else, but if so he should probably start a bit lower down the pyramid.
Doing a brilliant job at the moment though, so as said, unless a fantastic candidate pops up just leave it as is for now until we stop bouncing.

Not necessarily. We promoted Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars from our Youth set up to caretaker "joint manager" in 21/22 with the situation being made permanent shortly afterwards. They were both (fairly unexpectedly) relieved of their duties shortly after the end of the season when we appointed Derek Adams. Both were offered deals to stay at the club and Trueman moved back in to the youth set up but was back as caretaker manager when Adams was sacked and is now first team coach under Hughes. Sellars turned down the offer and instead the club paid for him to study for his UEFA A badge.
PJ et al seem pretty good at the soft skills type stuff and probably score higher than average for empathy when compared to other club owners so a step up for Young needn't be the beginning of the end if it doesn't go to plan.
I'm not getting my knickers in a twist as you so called put it I just think lewis young is not the answer going forward , personally I think we need someone with proven experience at this level sooner rather than later.

Our last 5 managers were rookies. Only KB was an unmitigated disaster. Compare to highly experienced managers we've had in the not too distant past: Gregory, Yates.... how well did that work out for us?

But you said "this needs to get sorted out" - I don't understand why.
Maybe he isn't the answer, however if he carries on with 3 wins and a draw in 4 games form then there clearly isn't a rush to do something.
All the time we are picking up valuable points, as we are, it would be madness to change anything. Tbf to Lewis, the players have responded brilliantly, and long may that continue. I’m reluctant in that he doesn’t have the experience to push us where we want to be….but he might just be gaining that experience for a proper go next season. Either way, well done LY, so far so good.
