All the time we are picking up valuable points, as we are, it would be madness to change anything. Tbf to Lewis, the players have responded brilliantly, and long may that continue. I’m reluctant in that he doesn’t have the experience to push us where we want to be….but he might just be gaining that experience for a proper go next season. Either way, well done LY, so far so good.
yes he has done well but still a youngster with much to learn so sooner we get somebody in to provide some stability the better

Things look pretty stable to me. Players used in the right position, shots on target, goals, 7 points from 9, another cup win, a squad giving 100% and playing for the manager......

So Lewis is unbeaten in 5. You think bringing someone new in would deliver better results?
10 managers in 10 years would suggest otherwise....
Interesting listening to Lewis' interview, he sounds absolutely desperate for the permanent role as you'd expect him to be. He's almost got a little bit of swagger about him and clearly believes he is the right man for the job. Let's hope the club reward him with the job until the end of the season, to me it feels like a risk free move with him already embedded into the club, I can't see him losing the dressing room like Betsy did and with Craig by his side there's enough experience to ensure the right footballing decisions are made.

There is a middle way and that is the most sensible choice in my opinion. Leave the caretaker in temporary charge until the hot streak cools down.
I’m on the side of what Broadfield Dave mentioned in his post. I want Lewis to succeed and would hate to see him leave if it all goes up in flames especially this early on in his coaching career and having assisted the club as player and coach for several years now. But he hasn’t let us down yet and Wagmi have a difficult decision on their hands.
Lewis Young is a legend. He is doing an extremely difficult job unpicking the mess from Betsy. I want him to be given the job on contract until end next season. No more silly long contract.

The word "Legend" is overly used.............................

Lewis Young IS a club legend though. He has been a great servant if the club and.is highly respected. A fans favourite. A legend.

To give him "Legend" status in the same group as Dannie Bulman, Matt Tubbs and Kyle McFadzean is a joke.
Sorry George, but Lewis Young is way, way off of fitting into that category. A "Legend" he is NOT !!

Give it a rest will ya with this anti-Lewis Young rant. He is a club legend. He is the continuous link from the past to the future and this club would be in an even bigger mess after Betsy destroyed years of hard work if Young had not taken charge of the team. Lewis Young is a club Legend.
Since Lewis rescued us from Betsy the football has been more competitive fast and enjoyable along with Craig i think they are doing an excellent job. If we got a so-called experienced manager, would he have done any better. Probably not as we would have had to go through another hes got to "jell with the players" time scale. Lewis seems to be enjoying his position, the player also seem to want to play for him so in my book it's a no brainer give him the job even to the end of the season.
Legend or not, I don't care. 8 points from 4 games, unbeaten, and 5 places higher up the table is a cracking start. Throw in a convincing win in an izal bogroll cup game and I reckon we ought to keep it going.
We can't keep Lewis in an uncertain position - it is unfair on him to continue indefinitely as caretaker. I am very much in support of Lewis and what he is doing but equally, we don't know if this is a temporary bounce or the new normal. So far so good but it can only be a matter of time before the players he is leaving out of the squad/first team start complaining and it is important how he deals with that. We also don't know if Lewis has the experience to conduct a successful transfer window.
Personally, I would give him a three month manager contract to the end of January. See how results are stacking up and how he has done in the transfer window. If everything is in a good place, I would then offer him a longer contract.

LEWIS YOUNG'S RED ARMY!
Couldn't agree more with this, particularly with the sheer volume of players that we have it's important to get the January window bang on. Hopefully this slightly mysterious DOF we now have will assist. IMO there are at least 3 or 4 players that can feel hard done by not to be playing at the moment and I wouldn't be surprised if they requested to leave.
