Betsy had zero experience of being a first team manager and it showed, Lewis was caretaker manager for us at the tail end of last season so he DOES have prior experience. Look at the difference he has made - to tactics, to goals scored, to morale, to team spirit, to results....... WAGMI need to give Lewis the job until the end of the season.
Betsy took us to bottom of the league. In just a few matches Lewis has pulled us out of the relegation zone. No need for change. It's the CTFC way to constantly change managers every 5 minutes. It gets us nowhere.
We should have stuck with Kevin using that argument!
Why? He took us to the bottom of the league, results were awful, performances dire, players had no confidence, no morale. Nice guy but KB was a disaster. There were no signs that he had a clue how to improve things.
He is clearly a good coach, but there is more to being a successful manager than just being a good coach. I'm sure his time will come, just not with us, sadly.
why should he? No experience and probably sees himself as still learning his trade. Betsy was far more experienced and most wanted him gone so another rookie would be ridiculous.

Would it? The top two teams in last 2 seasons all had managers in their first jobs.

Betsy had ZERO experience of first team management. Absolutely none. I know you were his biggest fan, but I have no idea what you saw that you thought he was doing well. He took us to bottom of L2. Young gained us more points in 4 games than Betsy got in 10. We were crap today, but its our first defeat in 6 matches since Lewis took over.

But it's because a performance like yesterday's was possible that some were advising caution before giving Lewis Young the job permanently. Keep him in charge for the next couple of matches to see if yesterday was an exception. If the team shows it has reverted back to the Betsy performances and results then get on the phone to Sol Campbell.
It seems some are forgetting that yesterday's game was played against a team that is used to playing a division higher than us, so a defeat would be more likely than not. Maybe we've been spoiled by those epic giantkilling acts of a few years ago.

Young has made a difference already. A cup defeat to a team a division higher is not a massive shock. But our league form has improved massively. That's what is important. And don't forget this is the same group of players that Betsy had. And they will be the same group of players that any new manager coming in will have to work with. Young has got better performances out of them than anyone expected. There's no guarantee a new manager, however experienced, will do any better.
I'm sure that a while ago, three seasons in a row, Forrest Gump should have been relegated from the Conference, but kept their place due to so many teams going out of business back then. They have certainly grabbed their chance with both hands. I still can't stand them though.
