I think some of the Sidemen are coming to watch on Saturday
If this match were available on ifollow, that could be quite a lot of extra income for the club due to log-ins. However, perhaps this can be seen as a practice run for next season when the club can have its own cameras and, hopefully, decide which games to show. This could be supplemented by advertising income from the screening (hopefully this will be ringfenced away from companies that advertise stuff that may be harmful). If those ads are reaching enough people, the slots may become fairly valuable. I'm guessing that a sideman may be on the bench for most games eventually, but only used when late on when a game is won. It helps that 7 subs may be named but only 5 may be used in up to 3 stoppages (not including half time substitution(s)). This leaves 6 subs to be named of L2 standard. Swapping a sub who may not be of L2 standard for the potential of a largeish cash pot seems like a viable option. 5 outfielders, 1 gk, and one dw (dead wood) on the bench ought not cost points.

Yeah, they could be next season's Brian Galach
Ha. I was thinking Emmett O'Connor, but same thing.
Nicely put Paul but the revenue from ifollow to the home club is 80%. Plus income from the first 500 sales by the away club go to the home club, anything beyond that goes to the away club.
So, let's look at those figures again.
50,000 log into ifollow, Crawley receives £8 per log-in = £400,000 per game. Wow, suddenly all this makes more and more sense. Compare this to our normal weekly takings at the gate. Very approximately - 2,500 attendance at an average of, let's say, £15 each = £37,500, which is decent enough but the ifollow has the potential to be 10 and half times as much per game.
Count me in.
LEWIS YOUNG'S RED ARMY!
FYI Andy Holt has posted a breakdown of the Accrington iFollow revenues on Twitter, which you might find interesting. It looks like clubs now pocket £6.41 per UK match pass after costs and tax, the exact international breakdown is a bit more complicated but looks like it'll be about £4.60 per individual match pass, again after costs and taxes.
Id be interested to see how much other clubs make with iFollow, Stanley reckon £20k max per season while apparently Bolton pocket £500k so there's a huge variance between clubs.
As an aside, this could net Dannie Bulman a decent payday if some of the Sidemen play in his testimonial and it's televised on the internet. I imagine others have thought of this before me though. Maybe get a few top players in, a few Sidemen, and some Crawley players. Get Steve Evans to manage the non-Crawley side so that we can throw a few tongue-in-cheek insults at him .

Paul, that's a great idea, also get Sergio to make a guest appearance and Matt Tubbs !
