Front page of the official website says 3 sidemen you tube people are joining Crawley for training, with a view to seeing if they can make the squad for the FA Cup match versus Accrington.
What do you lot think , I'd be interested to know ?
Well as long they don't actually play a substantial amount of time, like Mark Wright who played the first 45 minutes of a league match which was a reckless decsion (not Mark's fault of course, he's probably a perfectly nice bloke), then I don't have a problem with it if brings more pubilicity and fans to the club.
To be honest they are here just for training and to see if they have the ability to make the squad - I can't see Lewis being forced into choosing any of them if they are not good enough to play - in saying that one could make the bench but you can only use 3 subs anyway so it really won't matter if they sat on the bench we can choose 7 for the cup match anyway as we don't have the League rules about a home grown player on the bench.
I can't see what harm it will do - if it gives the club the potential to substantially increase the iFollow numbers watching the game and brings in revenue to the club then its a no brainer. Just go with it.
I know there will be supporters totally against this but this is my take on it - I've been supporting the club for god knows how long and I'm not really bothered about it.
Don’t know why people are so annoyed at this. It’s part of their plan to grow this club to a wider audience. Other football fans don’t think highly of our club anyway they’ll always think we’re “tinpot” no matter what we do. Good luck to Tobi and his brothers not many get the opportunity to train and play at a professional club.

Three internet "celebrities" taking the place of actual professional footballers on the bench for an FA Cup game?
If it was a joke it wouldn't be funny. The fact it's true and could potentially happen just beggars belief.
We are unbeaten in four. How are some of our players going to feel if they are dropped from the matchday squad to make way for some people who have millions of followers on YouTube?
Hopefully Lewis will decide they aren't good enough and won't let them anywhere near the squad. Then he and the lads can concentrate on the actual football while the Youtubers can have fun prancing around in a training session and gain a shedload more followers.
Why does this make so many irate? The fact you're allowed to name 9 substitutes in the Fa Cup but the EFL is 7 means there's a very small chance 1 player could miss out on the bench and that's if all 3 of the youtubers were named, the chances of us even having 9 players fit to name on the bench is very unlikely.
If for any reason any of these guys were to make an appearance in the game then yes, I'm sure many would change their opinion including me but Wagmi haven't said this is their intention.
We're one of the smallest clubs in the EFL and the conventional methods of increasing interest and funding clearly haven't worked over the past 12 years, people seem more concerned about how we're perceived by other fans rather than the actual success of the club.
If any professional player is hoping their future career relies on appearing off the bench in the last few minutes of an FA Cup game that is already secured, with a League 2 team, perhaps their future lies elsewhere.
I hope they are nowhere near the squad for the FA Cup game let them train by all means but not at the loss of having a pro and alternative option on the bench
Preston did drop some hints about this at the bowling alley (I specifically raised this point with him). A lot of it is about producing an increased income for the club, so I suppose it's a fair investment if looking at the longer game. Also, it helps smooth things over if a player who doesn't make the bench over this gets a piece of the action. As I say, they were strong hints rather than detailed explanations.

I don't care how fans of any other club perceive us. I care about the success of CTFC as I always have done. Its a cup game and I expect to have players in the squad on merit, not due to some misguided dumbass publicity stunt. Lewis Young is doing an amazing job as caretaker manager. He's gained more points in 3 games than KB did in his entire stint in charge. Let's not screw things up for him by filling the squad with celebrity wannabes.
