Isn't that part of the problem knowing the 'best' team. No disrespect intended to those that started and were on the bench but I know 3 I would've included that by all accounts didn't travel to Wales.
I think that was the weakest Crawley bench I've seen in years.
I mean the players we had under Yates and Drummy were poor, but at least the majority of players had league experience. Amazing how we have replaced a decent squad who could’ve made the play offs with a few tweaks to a squad full inexperienced players that will struggle to stay up with a supposedly bigger budget.
Post-match reaction from the club. The more I hear from Darren the more I'm liking. He confirmed the Crawley Physio was also booked ahead of Darren's sending off. Dom also comes across very well, honest, respectful.
Fully agree. He appears motivated and knows what he is talking about.

Hopefully we can keep him at the club.
Agreed, very passionate about the club. He’s been thrown In the deep end and wants to prove himself. He knows the lads and their strengths like Lewis, (thanks for that blunder Eben) and he knows what it takes to succeed at this level. Having said that WE NEED some experienced defenders and to work on set pieces desperately
Okay, to concede in.. erm... "overtime" always feels like a loss. But any point at Newport can never be sniffed at, bonus of Telford justifying his £5k a week too. So cross fingers, maybe that siege mentality I mentioned earlier is happening...?
Well done everyone and special mention to the travelling fans...!
Well said Thad, glad to have you back even if I do irritate you at times! I'm sure like most things we could see eye to eye and enjoy the good times while putting up as best we can when things get difficult.

'Experience' is only one part of a players total performance level. Only if that 'experience' is combined with other factors of a players total game, such as skill level, (to achieve minimum level expected for success), desire, composure, fitness, ambition, team player. coaching etc. will determine a footballers worth.
So thinking that experience will solve a problem on its own is a mistake. For example, there's not much use having experience if a player cant pass to a teammate consistently enough that is acceptable.
Going by our results this season I don't think our supposed experienced players have made much of a difference!! Certainly not a difference we would expect or require.
Aggravating to only get a draw when leading 2-0 with ten minutes to go but I would have bitten your hand off foa draw at 2pm.
Club videos say we were much more entertaining than we have been. Definitely more shot. I will wait for those that were there to give a report.
Decent result. Well done.
Jim Baker
Just watched highlights on youtube Jim. and looked to be lots of chances for us so an improvement but again 2 poor goals conceded from free headers in the box which we saw at Stevenage and to be fair earlier in season. Something for whoever to work on before next game. Like most here happy to get a point as before game wasn't hopeful but still perilously close to bottom and just need to hope bottom teams don't win game in hand

You are sounding like a Wagmi apologist. Every manager will tell you they want experienced defenders in their back four. Our defence is so much more solid with Craig and Lynch in it. They are less prone to mistakes than younger players. I rate Ludwig highly, but he always has a mistake in him. He and Ransom and Omole will prove to be excellent defenders for CTFC if we don't sell them first.
As for our bench, we had nobody to bring on who could change the game for us. Just a bunch of untried kids (which seems to be the Wagmi way at present). A bench with Francomb, Craig, Hess and Nichols on it would have been so much better. But Wagmi seem to want to bin off anyone over the age of 26. A bizarre policy but one they seem committed to. I wonder if they have realised that half the squad is now made up of loan players, and we have to give them back in the summer?

I agree, we need some experience at the back as the last two games have shown. 4 goals scored from an identical spot suggests to me that our current central defenders are not currently at the level we need and anyone who scouts Crawley will know that if you put enough high balls onto the penalty spot we will eventually concede.
Joel Lynch is of course a big miss with his experience, as is Conroy, but to be fair we need players who can manage more than 20 games a season.

Conroy was signed to provide some of that L2 experience and leadership skills but unfourtunately he has been injured for the vast majority of the season. Craig IMO has been an utter liability most of the time as he tends to give away stupid free kicks and do other things which for someone his experience I find bewildering.
We have 4 key players out injured at the moment that I feel are making a difference in results and performances (Nadesan, Lynch, Conroy, Tilley) and providing nothing happens with them this month, having them back should make a difference. Hopefully the manager situation can also be sorted out before the Donny game so we have time to hopefully allow him to bring in a few decent players, and that means not letting Chris Galley anywhere near the recruitment process
Conroy is a sicknote unfortunately. He's never fit. I was surprised we managed to sign him, but heard that he was injured more often than not at Swindon, so it's no wonder they let him go. He could be good for us, but we need players who can make more than 2 appearances without breaking down. Tony Craig is rarely injured. Like all defenders he makes the occasional mistake, but our back four is better for having an experienced pro like him or Lynch in it. Lynch is injured again, so it beggars belief that Wagmi have got rid of Craig, and also club captain Francomb in a petulant hissy fit. I don't know what their agenda is, but its definitely not for the benefit of the club. Agree with you that Galley needs to be kept as far away from CTFC as possible.

I think we need a mixture of experienced players and young fast and enthusiastic players. Maybe 7 players 27-35 4 players 18-24. Something like that. We could do with 3 or 4 Joel Lynch’s and Tony Craig’s, problem is Lynch is injured a lot and Craig is a bit slow, but our senior players seem to have disappeared over the last 2 games.
