This may simply be a move over from the old website squad list and, therefore, not completely to be trusted
Missing players as far as I can see are, Bulman a definite signing, Banton who was out on loan, Henderson presumably released and Bawling
Of that list of players there is too much deadwood. I'm disappointed that we appear to be keeping so many of the players from last season.
For me the following players should go:
Mersin- Very poor goalkeeper. Kicking is poor, shot stopping is poor and has no presence at all. Doesn't inspire confidence in the team.
Arthur- Overweight, too slow and poor distribution. Conference player at best. Woefully short at this level.
Garnett- Barely got a look in to be fair to him, didn't look that great when he came on though. We can't afford to carry players.
Lelan- Made a good start, but deteriorated alarmingly, can see why he was released from Northampton.
Payne- Too slow and not fit enough. Passing is erratic. A better version of Simon Walton, but I think the conference is his level.
Tajbakhsh- Didn't get much of a look in, but looked well off the pace when he did get some game time.
Harrold- Offers a different option up front and has become a cult hero for his game in goal and the way he rallied the team as manger. However, his injury record speaks for itself. We can't afford to carry players who may only play 10-15 games a season. Sadly, I think he has to go.
There are players like Roberts, Clifford, Yorweth and Blackman who you could also make a case to go as they were poor for large parts of the season, but I see potential in all of them particularly Roberts, who if he can keep himself fit can offer us a lot on the wing. If him and Cox can be firing on all cylinders we can have a good attacking unit along with Collins if he can stay.
Will be interesting to see how the squad shapes up closer to the season.

There are players like Roberts, Clifford - not good enough we have plenty of midfield option let him go, Yorweth decision already made and Blackman - will become a top defender given the correct coaching who you could also make a case to go as they were poor for large parts of the season, but I see potential in all of them particularly Roberts agree 100%, who if he can keep himself fit can offer us a lot on the wing. I think Yorwerth is a handy player to have and I'm content we've kept hold of him. His versatility comes in useful for a club like ours who can't afford a huge squad.
Young simply hasn't been good enough in the three years he's been here and I've no idea why we've offered him a deal. Fingers crossed some other victim somehow offers him a better contract and he takes that up.
The rest of the crop sound like they have a pre-season to impress Kewell and I really do hope someone else offers the likes of Clifford, Payne etc concrete deals, which they take up.
Enough messing about and keeping on the dross which has achieved nothing for us all these years, it's time to get serious. The likes of Collins could rock the boat if he doesn't think we have a squad capable of getting in the play-offs.
How the heck can Harry say he is happy etc with what he has when he hasnt seen them play competatively. I wonder if we will end up with the crumbs left once the pre season friendlies start and closer we get to the new season. Worryingly we dont have enough tough tests pre season. Sticking a hatfull of goals past three bridges and oakwood serves limited purpose.

"If we can bring a few new faces in then great, but if not then it’s not a problem for me."
I suppose the positive is that we've seen them play together and know what they are capable of producing on occasions...
on the other hand... I suppose the negative is that we've seen them play together and know what they are capable of producing on occasions...!
Indeed, having seen about 25 games last season I would say that about half the current squad are simply not good enough for a serious promotion push. If they were we wouldn't have ended last season scrapping to stay up as DD wasn't that bad a coach.
However we have wound up in a position where we have a manager who appears never to have seen us play and by the looks of it someone else making the hiring and firing decisions.

Whilst I see where he's coming from, it's important to win the race rather than waiting months before hoovering up what no other club wants.

FFS all Harry needs to do is watch a few dvds from the tail end of last season. What exactly is he doing to assess the squad he has inherited? Im beginning to wonder ifvwe have a puppet on a string as a manager!
