i thought Henderson had signed an 18 month deal but probably wrong
Mersin, Arthur, Lelan, Taj and Harrold (unless a player coach role) must all surely go none of them are good enough
looks like we are basically keeping everyone else by signing them up which is a shame as we really do seem to lack ambition by signing up the likes of Yerworth

It looks like a squad that struggled to stay in league two. If thats the finished article we must be absolute odds in favourites to be relegated. There are some very average at best and some players that wouldnt look out of place in ryman football. Look where players like Tomlin are now.
Release/Retain list here - www.crawleytownfc.com/news/2017/may/30.05/ Banton, Bawling & Henderson released. Young has contract extended and Harrold considering an offer of another year.

Young deserves an extention he cares works hard and is a versitle squad player. Long live the King.
We have practically retain everyone it dosent leave any room for additional signings. At least Kewell will be able to say they werent his signings if the ..hits the fan.
Why retain Arthur, Mersin and Tabashih no disrespect but none if those three are even close to good enough . Crazy
Not sure who is actually making these decisions at the moment, according to what I can see on the old forum Arthur and Tajbakhsh have one year options from June 2017 so somebody, who? has taken up their options, Mersin is under contract for another 12 months so it's either keep him or pay him off
Obviously if DD lashed out with extended contracts on a number of players then the club is stuck either with them or a big bill to cancel those contracts, with the best will in the world I can't understand how the new management team can do anything about it without dumping a fair amount of the their budget before they can even consider looking for replacements
At the turn of the year if you'd told me that next season we'd have the bulk of our squad plus Bulman, I'd have been pretty happy and looking forward to a top-ten finish... since then it has slowly unravelled and by the last ten matches we were in freefall, it was Jekyll & Hyde... but now the retained list makes it appear that somehow none of the players were to blame...(?)
Okay - it is always easier to sack a manager than a shedload of players, but collectively they have got off lightly.
I'd recommend the new management take a good long look at games from the last third of the season and decide what they think needs changing, without the option - in most instances - of it being the personnel.

Im beginning to wonder who is cracking the waknut whip at the club presently and if its Harry i can only assume he fell asleep watching videos of the dross served up by most of the players retained. The mind boggles!
To be honest I get the impression Kewell feels so lucked out to be given a chance he will do whatever he is told. Its clear from his interview he is clueless about this squad , who will be recruited , or frankly what the role of manager entails. He doesn't come across as being terribly smart quite honestly.

They must be under contract. Regarding Mersin, away v's Portsmouth he was absolutely embarrassing. I think I made my feelings clear in my post on the old forum. The bloke can't catch or kick(particularly kick). The Pompey fans were laughing at him, and we were too....which really isn't great is it.
