The 1st goal they scored there were plenty warning signs exactly like that build up 1st half; was this addressed by the coaching at HT? Too many blunders in there. Williams turning, back to goal dispossessed unnecessary, was 1 of a ton of his mistakes today. This wasn't a game for Lolos and Orsi to overplay passes between them at times. Gordon underused - when he was plenty of decent crosses. Late on taking Wright off (didnt look injured) complete coaching blunder. We could've used his long throws in attack and used him as a target man for aerial balls too (obviously not at the sane time!). Today I think the management was poor. DR were set up really well pressed us and yet even down to 10 were the better team. We are far, far, FAR too slow moving the ball and it frustrated the crowd that dissapointingly needed more from the pitch to raise their voices. Other results around us have been somewhat fortunate, but I fear nothing at Newtport could see our play off hopes quickly fade. Corey nightmare, but Ive not forgotten the many, many times he's saved us from trouble. FT CT 0 DR 2
VERY LUCKY with other results today. Footballing Gods are still with us.
100% - first thing I checked when I was stuck in that horrendous queue to get out the east stand. Lifted my mood ever so slightly.
I can’t quite put my finger on what went wrong today, a lot of our first touches were so heavy that we kept losing possession. Mix that with the fact they were on to us so quickly, we just could not settle and it completely disrupted the rhythm of what we wanted to do.
A few take aways from me, Orsi had a shocker apart from winning the red card, Maguire looked like he had 10kg dumbbells in his boots and the pitch played a little slower/bobbly than I think the players were expecting. Nearly got caught out a number of times waiting for the ball to reach them.
Anyway, we win on Monday and all will be forgotten.
Have to agree with other posts, poor performance by all players today, too many passes gone stray, too many times trying to hold on to the ball and then trying to beat the man in defence. Also forwards looked to be a couple of yards of the pace. Shame as a great crowd and grat atmosphere. Still a chance of play offs, however do not think we are ready yet for league 1. But would be great to have a chance of getting to Wembley.....
I think it also showed that the players looked a bit lost at times and I think that’s partly down to SL not being on the touchline barking orders out.
They deserved to win, but I’ve been watching football for decades and haven’t till now seen the most blatant piece of cheating I’ve seen yet meaning I hadn’t previously had such a good view of it!
It was when they went down to 10 men and their manager was trying to give them a whole new set of directions when half a dozen of the players started shouting over to their goalie to fall down and feign injury so that they could get the full team talk.
Keeper didn’t hear at first then when he eventually did, he fell to the ground like he’d been shot. Incredible and why didn’t the linesman see it?
One day I want us to be that good at gamesmanship though it has to be said.

Completely understand the comments around Corey but he pulled off a couple of great saves to keep us in the game and he was fed a hospital pass for the 2nd goal which admittedly he could have come out and attempted to clear rather than wait for it to reach the box

Agreed - Doncaster are not a team to play tippy-tappy against, but we seem a little short on all-round physicality at times. Plan B is better than it was, but we do come up a bit short at times in that area.

Today Corey was at fault too often slow to pass out and what about that throw that nearly resulted in a goal?
Perhaps that 7 up front at the end Scott wasn't balanced enough? What really concerned me was Scott saying he may stay in the stand by CHOICE! Seriously man, get yourself pitch side and influence the game.
A very poor performance against a team who knew how to win games. We seemed to lack ideas and also urgency. Far to slow getting the ball forward and when we do trying to make to many passes in their area. Orsi had a very poor game. We need a big improvement if we are to get anything from the Newport game.
SL clearly raging in that interview, which to be honest, I like to see.
I’ve said before during this season that we just ain’t mean enough when we need to be.
I’m also trying to tell myself it’s a measure of just how far we’ve come when we’re challenging for play offs and getting pissed off by dropping to 10th in the table.
Who’d have thought that was even possible at the start of the season.
Just totally pissed that they looked more like play off challengers than us when we needed to grip the game from the start which I think is what SL was referring to.
Hopefully the players get a grip and take it out on Newport on Monday.

There's only 1 way we dont make the Play-Offs, and thats if SL keeps starting with Maguire (1.2 pts every time he starts) as opposed to Ransom (1.8 pts every time he starts). There is a GULF between them Long Term Stats.
I think it also showed that the players looked a bit lost at times and I think that’s partly down to SL not being on the touchline barking orders out.

Yes you’re right. I was fcuking livid…keeper goes down with “cramp” (the one player in the team who can’t be moved to the touch line for treatment) allowing them to have a team meeting and water break. Blatant cheating as you say. Not even just gamesmanship. Cheating.
