A horrible team. Their fans were some of the most pleasant we have done here for a long time. We got in a photo of theirs, with their flag, outside the pub! They were a friendly bunch. Shame their team are so terrible. Punching above their weight in the playoffs!
Well played Crawley Pip Pip No one had a bad game against a bunch of dirty northern b'stards. Yorwerth was superb, was my MoM with the other 10 very close behind.
Superb win against a very physical and direct team. Think we have sent out a massive message to the rest of the league with that win. See no reason at all why we can't make the play offs now....no team will look forward to playing us now..not very deluded..ππ
let me start off by reiterating what a horrible team Lincoln are.
I can't remember the last time I saw a team play such horrible football. Hoofball after hoofball. It was clear from the start what their game plan was with that fat sumo wrestler up front his dirty sidekick.Lots of niggly fouls from them. That no.10 should've been sent off before he scored after constant fouling while on a yellow.
They may have been successful with their horrible brand of football, but Lincoln will not win many friends if their rise is to continue.
It was a victory for the team that tried to play football against the team that tried to spoil the game.
It was clear from the off that they were tried to push up and close us down as we played out from the back. Now, I don't really enjoy watching us do it as my heart is in my mouth watching it, but it kind of worked. We kept our composure well and were able to exploit the space left by them pushing up so high. Still not convinced with this playing out from the back as all it takes is a poor touch and the opposition is in on goal.
Great strike from Young to set up the goal with Jimmy following in well. Good effort to go 1-0 up at HT.
Second half Lincoln came flying out of the blocks and scored a classic old school goal with a flick on by the big from a long kick with the pacy striker nipping in behind to finish. From then on it looked as if they would go on to win the game as we hadn't woken up yet. Luckily for us we scored at the right time, arguably against the run of play with Payne tucking in the penalty well after Enzio was fouled. Shortly after that Connolly capped off a fine display with a crucial 3rd goal to seal the game.
Overall, it was a hard fought victory against a very, well, 'old school' team.
KAG was excellent again, was positive, took players on and looked to make things happen. He's been a very pleasant surprise.
Smith battled well again in midfield.
Yorwerth and Connolly were excellent again in the heart of the defence.
An enjoyable game with a cup like feel with a good attendance boosted by an excellent Lincoln following.
The play off places are closer now, only 2 points from the play off places! IF and it's a big IF still we are to make the play offs, this is the kind of game we should be winning and we passed this test after failing miserably against Luton in mid week.
Should be an interesting end to the season.
We are outsiders for the play offs, but we could've hit form at the right time.

The penalty came against run ofvplay and a bad restart from Reds...and the pen turned the game...question mark over what HK said at HT and I wouldve like to see him more animated after the restart wasnt great but that was one of the games of the season. Massive three points. Yorwerth immense...young just keeps improving...Thomas effective his replacement Roberts looked jaded and poor...connelly great goal...Lincoln Boss taunted in west stand why sit the muppet there was asking for trouble. A new team to hate with venom was born today. Play offs? Not so sure the opening period after halftime was ineffective. We missed Thomas. KEG had his monents i thought he did far more good than wrong. Ref bottled red carding the scum City players. Today all reds fans can be proud of their club.Tough call for mom take your pick from connelly yorwerth morris enzio smith even Thomas had a very good 45mins.

Let me just add, I have nothing against Lincoln as a club, or their fans, but that team of theirs is horrible to watch, what I would call 'anti football'.
Yorwerth was huge today...had a fantastic game, the Imps forwards were constantly trying to niggle him...Great result
Haven't been able to get down much this season, but thoroughly enjoyed that. At last, it's starting to feel fun to watch Crawley again. Thought Young and Yorwerth were immense.
