Yorwerth was huge today...had a fantastic game, the Imps forwards were constantly trying to niggle him...Great result
Haven't been able to get down much this season, but thoroughly enjoyed that. At last, it's starting to feel fun to watch Crawley again. Thought Young and Yorwerth were immense.
Yorwerth kept his cool played football and really if he can keep to that will improve all the time. I say it again today he was immense. A really proud day to be a Crawley fan. Absolutely delighted we beat those cheating scumbags that i can only imagine have bullied their way up from non league, whereas ctfc played with quality and style as we rose from non league. Well done HK got the starting line up spot on and I liked our ambitious start when they had a corner and we kept three up front.
Word for Thomas the Tank engine too....he is improving every game. We lost shape when he went off injured at the end of the half. Hope it's nothing too serious.
Echo the sentiments about Yorwerth. Rhead has always caused problems by his roughhousing tactics. Yorwerth had him complaining to the ref all game. From behind the goal I thought it was a penalty. Soft, but correct. The defender cannot pull an attacker right in front of the ref and expect to get away with it. What a delivery for the third goal. Pace, curl and dip. I could have scored from that.
What a fantastic game. First half was played exactly the right way and we totally dominated, kept possession and really took the game to them.
Nobody could have complained if we went in 2 or 3 up.
Second half they started well. They played in a high press to stop us playing out from the back and widened the midfield to try to stifle our wingers and it worked for 15 mins.
They scored and were looking up for it. The penalty came at the right time.
Yorwerth was outstanding. I agree that his distribution is questionable and even worse when he is under pressure but he has guts and determination in spades and that can make up for a lack of skill.
Outstanding team performance, Smith's movement off the ball is simply fantastic and it was very hard to call MoM. Enzio and Lewis were formidable down the right hand side.
There is a huge improvement in competing for the second ball. Time and again you could see when the Crawley player was not going to win the first ball, they set themselves up for the second ball.
Lincoln got one more goal than they deserved. One dimensional, no different game plan, other than that 15 minutes they were predictable (except at attacking free kicks!) and easy to play against.
It wasn't that Lincoln were dirty, niggly & nasty... it was that when our players went anywhere near them, they rolled over and cried like new-born infants.. I detest the cowardly likes of Matt Rhead who dishes it out, but hasn't learned how to take it back, say what you will about Yorwerth, he never goes missing from a scrap..!
We outplayed them and outfought them and I could not be happier, a really enjoyable win.. a real spirited display, at times our team play on the break was as good as you will see from anyone, anywhere this weekend.
May I make a mention for Danny Bulman, HK was shrewd enough to send him on when our tiring midfield were losing a grip on the game, Danny started holding the ball, encouraging neat triangles that denied Lincoln possession and mounted a springboard to get us back in the game.

Just watched the opening goal a few times on the highlights, for me that's got to be a contender for goal of the season, it shows what can happen when players have a shot at goal instead of faffing around in squares, triangles and circles without the confidence to chance their arm, if HK gets a knighthood this season then the new improved Young should be in line for at least an OBE
Good solid performance against an overly physical Lincoln team. I cheered them on last season on their fa cup run will never do that again. What a horrible team but we rose above it all and just played our game. I gave Yorwerth mom but could have easily been 2or 3 others. What a team we are becoming, going to Forest Green next week, can’t wait 🔴⚪️
