It's a tough gig running a football club. The money you must be prepared to lose every year is a daunting figure. I do think economic events have conspired against Mr Eren. Some of his platitudes have always been useful words but they need actions underneath it.
I wouldn't blame him for wanting to get out - and he should go with our thanks for saving us from some pretty dire consequences over the last few years.
I hope he does want to sell and will do so at a decent price (We do have few assets worthy of value) But as has been proved, to sustain a club at Crawley's level takes significant funds
Indeed it does, particularly with the low gates and the ease with which they fall.

with likes loo town and port5cumouthy gone there dont seem to be any big away supports coming to the Broadfield.
And that too has hit us hard in the last 3 years or so; AFC Plastic, Luton, Portsmouth, Leyton Orient, Plymouth, Bristol Rovers and Wycombe have all gone up or down.
Crawley in League Two is still punching above the club’s actual weight by a division I reckon. Best enjoy it - the season has soured but at 27 points we are still on course for survival for another year. Best to rein in expectations, with Palmer and Morais back we will likely get past this sticky patch. As for criticism of the club’s owners, not sure many are queuing up to replace the money they have put in, they will make mistakes along the way for sure but that’s probably par for the course. I’m not happy with some of the things they do but big picture wise league football for the town is still a great thing

Yes league football is a great achievement but despite money pumped in I mean trickling in the club have never really made the most of their league status and been able to attract keep and build the core or even floating fan base. Terrific efforts pricing tickets (nontwithstanding forthcoming deal devaluing STH) and staff do put efforts in but the overall marketing strategy and scouting is holding the club back.
We have a captive population sure historically set with falmer and london clubs but its a huge population base and yet other much smaller populated clubs fo better. No one easy reason or answer but in years weve been a football league club overall growth is what zero percent? On pitch dire football and managers hasnt helped but why are so few of the huge captive population not interested? Until we overturn this, improve marketing and scouting how can we possibly go anywhere near the owners bullsh1tted pipe dream of promotion never mind keep sustaining league status?
The club have tried to create a family environment of togetherness but weve heard forum users inmpadt say theyve brought friends to matches and they unlikely to return.
I just dont think enough people care and love this football club? Why with a few mins remaining chasing an equaliser, for example, do so few fans roar the club on? If a franchise situation happended like with the wombles move and say Crawley moved to say Chelmsford and became 'Chelmsford Reds' I think you would see a sucessful marketed club building upon that success and few tears shed in West Sussex at the loss of football at the Broadfield.
Our problem on the pitch is that we let other teams out muscle us.. we need to develop or sign a bit of nastiness, be less open, prepared to dig in & scrap for the points needed to ensure safety.
When i saw the starting Xl yesterday i felt Ciofi had bravely & pragmatically followed the script to the letter and sacrificed a spot of creativity for a bit more fight.
It worked too.. Newport are a strong, physical, niggly bunch and if we can stand up to them at their place, we should be able to compete with anyone in this league..!

Indeed so, matey! I saw a report in which Flynn was moaning that only one side was trying to win and that we had come just to 'stop the rot'. Well, good. We needed to do that and after all, it's what a lot of teams do to us. I haven't actually seen the incident but the report also suggested that Poleon 'tripped over the defender's leg'. So obviously no penalty then.... Why don't we get decisions like that working in our favour?

I also think if we are less open, scrap for the ball & rely on quick breaks, it would actually suit our mobile forwards better than the elaborate - but slow - build-up we have favoured.
I would certainly like to see more early crosses rather than wait until the opposition defence has got themselves set-up.
After all, I have made the semi-serious point before that our best home wins have come when we play like the away team.
Huge two games coming up to finish January and begin February.i suppose with our away form being piss poor we shouldn't expect anything from Swindon and certainly not second place Bury. But trouble is, with being just 6 points from safety we can't afford not to take a point or 3.It really will be relegation woes if the team loses both these because just 3 games later we play at home to Macclesfield. Nervous times for everyone involved with the club coming up
