To be fair, 3 R's has a point. It appeared that the Cameroon players didn't seem to know the rules, the player clearly shielded it back to the keeper after passing it back and then the Cameroon players acted as if they'd been wronged. This would suggest to me that they didn't understand the laws of the game, which is something I would expect my brother's under 11 team to know. This combined with the blatant cynical fouling off the ball, spitting, refusing to play on after indisputable VAR decisions, pushing the referee, crying and screaming hysterically at injured player really puts the women's game into disrepute. Not to mention the shockingly poor standard of refereeing and poor standard of football. The Cameroon team should be fined and banned from the next world cup for bringing the women's game into disrepute. Big credit must go to the England women for being professional and handling themselves with dignity.
P.s. the Cameroon men's team has a history of this type of behaviour as well with cynical fouling and bad sportsmanship in previous world cups. It's not just exclusive to the women.
Strange that people at work the past day or two have actually been talking about the women’s World Cup!! Didn’t happen for the first week of the tournament. Not too many positives have crossed conversation though in all honesty, so for now I will stick with my original assessment that it really isn’t very good.
Edit:have you seen some of the official attendances in comparison to the actual number of match attendees? I can only assume the food and drink outlets are of fine dining quality and absolutely free.
Yes, that England vs. Cameroon match was reminiscent of school playground behaviour. I'm only pleased that one of the Cameroon players didn't own the balls or we might not have seen the end of the game.
I don't think it would be reasonable to say that it let women's football down. It only let down the Cameroon women's football team. It would be like saying, for example, that Newport's dirty fouling a while back let down League Two. It didn't. It only let down the Newport team.
Arguing about VAR decisions seems pointless. I suppose it's worth questioning the interpretation, but if it goes against you get on with the game. The picked-up back pass was clearly an indirect free kick. England's second goal was clearly not offside, because the player in question was not interfering. Cameroon's disallowed effort was marginal, but offside. It might have stood without VAR.
BTW. I was beginning to wonder if one of the Cameroon players in particular was coked up.

Tell you what, we thought a few of them looked like they were on drugs.Testosterone inhancement drugs. Would explain the stroppy attitude, oh,and the fact a few of them looked more than a little bloke like.
Inevitable wasn't it,the BBC commentator said the Cameroon players were complaining that there was racism involved in the poor decisions.
Yawn.....the ref was just clueless.
You’re now going to incur the wrath of Ant to defend his Luvvies 😜

If you think that's bad, the commentator also said that the Cameroon players needed better coaching for basic things such as marking goalside! A pretty damning assessment of the ammeter set up of the Cameroon women's team. A team that got to a world cup last 16.

i think an under 11, 12, 13's tournament on prime time tv be more of interest but yet again the bbc waste licence fees on this rubbish.

Cracking goal from Lucy Bronze, if that was in the PL then Gary Lineker would be in orgasm mode. On the other hand if Danny Hockton had hit that it would be halfway across the channel by now.
Enjoyed the game tonight, was of a higher standard than the last game V Cameroon. Thought the England team played very well and well were deserved winners. They played some good passing football at times, there are glimmers of some really good football from England, but still lots of sloppy passing from England who toiled at times. Can see that the England women's team definitely have potential and are one of a few decent watchable teams at this tournament. Looking forward to seeing England against France or the USA to see how high (or low) the standard is at the top of the women's game. Must say that Lucy Bronze for England at full back looks a very impressive player, strength, speed, athleticism, she really stands out for me.

You've answered your own statement there Alex, tonights game, and the semi final will be at a very high standard for the women's game. Its the World Cup, you can't get a higher standard than that. England showed why they are one of the favourites to win the competition, and have a great chance to win it.

I will try and watch some of the France V USA to see how high the standard is. Will be interesting to see how England compare.
