It will certainly be tough, a glance at the Championship table shows it is packed with ex PL sides and a few others like Luton and Preston who are well established.
Probably their best example to follow is Burton who managed to stay up for a couple of years without screwing up their finances.
in recent season you have to admire the ability of Brentford to develop & sell talent, whilst still slowly improving the side each year.
And investing in infrastructure too - it would be fantastic for them to start life at the new ground in the PL.

Between us, we have jinxed them Simon.
Looks like the kiss of death.
What an end to the season.
6 goal swing Forest and Swansea. 2 injury time winners for Barnsley in the last 2 games Brentford collapse, one win from last 2 would have been enough Fantastic job by Nathan Jones at Luton Old man Warnock doing it again The saga at Wigan
The final Championship standings totally illustrate that the "unweighted one point per game" formula, applied in other leagues, is flawed.
Dunno precisely how they would have finished, but i suspect Luton would have been down & Forest in the play-offs instead of Swansea if it had been worked out on paper.
No-one could have predicted the final bottom three (which may still change again pending FA disciplinary decisions).
on that note JB. You know that Fulham are not yet ready for the step up, will be soundly thrashed by every team they play & are certain to finish the season in the bottom three, with Scott Parker sacked in November...!

Surely Fulham have had enough practice in the Premier League in the last few years that they can’t make the same mistakes again and get relegated again? They certainly don’t need another spending spree on random overpriced foreign players that got them relegated last time. Aston Villa did the same tactic after getting promoted and stayed up only by the skin of their teeth and thanks to Sheffield United having a goal disallowed due to a goal line technology malfunction.
Only one season in the Premier League in the last six but yes, hopefully the lessons of two summers ago have been learnt. Having said that, the defence definitely needs strengthening so they will have to bring players in.
I went to see Fulham play in the 60s when Man U were visiting. I remember the attendance was 47,000 - packed solid and would be regarded as unsafe these days. I remember Les Barrett and Alan Clarke scored for Fulham and George Best and Nobby Stiles for United. Foreign player names were fairly unusual then, so having a Tony Macedo in goal was unusual.

Tony Macedo was born in Gibraltar - a very brave 'keeper.
