Rationally, it should be no real surprise to lose a spot of momentum & sharpness, but not belief.
We have a decent & honest group of players who all know that they can & should have done better.
Thad, do you feel then that it was all the players doing? Some have questioned the manager too, some the ref too. I don't feel we lost the game because of the ref (though he didn't help) but Dallison coming off that was a strange decision. I also thought Tilley played ok in the last match so was surprised he didn't start. We also sat back a lot - several messages read out by the commentator on ifollow also questioned our approach. Surely the management and ultimately John Yems needs to take on some of the responsibility here and yet in his interview (that I understand abruptly ended because the point the finger at the ref part was (sensibly) cut out) Yems didn't seem to include himself in what felt like a loss even though we gained a league position and a point and of course in doing so didn't actually lose.
It's the old football saying - if the players follow the manager's instructions and don't win, blame him, if they don't, blame the players.
I have no issue with JM criticising the players - the alternative is that they followed his instructions and there is no way that level of performance can be mandated by the manager.
Last night as well as last Saturday, we had players trying fancy flicks and passes that were not working especially in the midfield, they should forget those and play the basic passing game to the feet of the players - too many time passes were short or not getting passed the defender when playing out wide - it's also criminal that we don't try shooting from out side the box on occasions - trying to pass the ball into the net is great if you have players who are capable of that which we don't - time and time again we fail inside the penalty area with a bad pass or one that is over hit. Each and everyone of those players have shown they are able to play the game - so lets hope on Saturday that they can produce the performance to bring back our optimism about getting to the play-offs.

George, it is all about perspective... Yemsy picked a decent team in a good shape, that - thanks to the Refs decision - should have gone ahead early on. A few months back Klopp, Lampard, Arteta & Bielsa were genius visionaries , whereas Ole & Pep were clinging on... ...the point being that managers rarely get it right every time, but there are still a few variables even when they do. Regardless they are ultimately held accountable for results, cos it is easier to sack one manager than a squad of contracted players.
My view on his post match comments - and Yems is fully aware of it - is that when players let you down... ...give them all a public bolly & private gee-up, then worry if you don't get a response next game. BUT refs, pitches, weather, luck, travel, bounce etc etc, are all obstacles that players train to overcome ANY inability to do so... is a failure of the players AND the people who prepared them...!

I forgot the politics (to summarise)!
Frank Lampard got the hook, Kepa, Werner & Havertz are still at Chelsea.
We had no widths until Davies came on. I’m not sure where Matthews was supposed to be playing and the midfielder didn’t work. Orient seemed to have more players than us even with 10 men. Let’s hope it was just a blip and hope with one or two tweaks we can get back to winning ways on Saturday.
They DID have more players in the final third around their goal because we sat back so deep it was like we were the cup side 5 leagues below the opposition hanging on to a slender lead! Yes Davies provided some width and up until John made the changes it was Dallison that got into the channels as was our most productive 'winger' and it greatly annoyed me that the best player on the park by miles was taken off!
Lol John does have the touch of Evans about him, I have no issue with that. Football is too clipboard manager these days, I love the entertainment of the big personalities
