I didn't read too much into at the time but I noticed dallison posted something interesting on twitter yesterday 'Learn to sit back and relax, not everything needs a reaction' My first thought was the announcement of yems' charge by the FA after the Orient game. As I say, I didn't think too much of it until he found himself on the bench today, maybe I'm putting 2+2 together and making 5 but it got me thinking, hope all is well in the camp.
Forgot to mention Selim liked the post which again made me think it was football related.
Commentator keeps going on about how yemms wont be happy....its his bloody fault......you dont lose your best defender like tunnicliffe, replace him like you have to but also blood someone like Wright... Was dreading this as soon as I saw the team....obvious..

The way Dallison has been performing on the pitch hasn't been the problem, so on that score there's no good reason why he shouldn't be playing as he's consistently been one of our best players on the pitch and had another good game when he came on scoring and making two goal saving tackles. On the surface, the decision to haul Dallison off on Tuesday and then bench him today for a very inexperienced player out of the game for along time doesn't make any sense from what we've seen on the pitch, which inevitably leads to us wondering if there is more to it.
www.crawleytownfc.com/news/2021/february/harrogate-town-reaction--john-yems/ "Once again for some reason we didn't deserve a win" - great analysis John, so either you dodged that our you are clueless. The interviewer ALSO dodged asking why Mark Wright started ahead of Tom Dallison and as a result fans will rightly be thinking you John have lost the plot
I sometimes wonder whether the club told the interviewer what questions to ask as all the obvious ones were not being asked.
Tarryn Allarakhia always gives 100% and I was pleased to see him come on but hey no mention of the goal-scorer? MOM? For me it has to be Tom Dallison he drove us forward and made two excellent timely tackles in defence he was the inspiration we lacked at the start.
The way Yems went off at the referee and gave yet another rude, embarrassing, erratic interview after the Orient game was concerning. The referee wasn't the reason we failed to win that game it was the players. The referee was poor, but he was poor for both teams and gave us every chance to win giving us a penalty and sending off their player. There have been games when the referee has been just as bad if not worse and nothing from Yems. Not to mention the increasingly erratic team selections and formations we've seen recently. And as I've said about, the way Dallison has been treated by being hauled off against Orient and today being benched for an inexperienced reality TV star doesn't make any sense on the surface. The team selections might be explained by injuries and Covid maybe so I can give Yems the benefit of the doubt for that. But the formations have been eratic and clearly Dallison isn't injured otherwise he wouldn't have played half a game.
I agree with Yems that Mark Wright wasn't at fault today, Yems is the one that put him in and the players collectively were appalling in the first half. Why Yems decided to give such an inexperienced player his full debut today and not blood him in carefully I don't know. Mark Wright looked out of depth out there with Craig and the others having to cover for him all the time. After that performance, I can't see how Mark Wright can ever start or again or maybe ever play again because it was a complete car crash and he should have been subbed after 20 minutes. The whole team though were appalling in the first half. Harrogate were first to every ball and looked sharper all over the park and we didn't have any answers at all we were bullied all over the pitch in the first half.
Second half was better, but it couldn't be any worse and Harrogate were unlikely to play at such a high tempo all game. The 3 substitutes at half time all made a good impact. The crucial moment was when we were 3-1 down half way through the second half and Nichols was tripped through on goal. If he'd have gone through and scored or was hauled down in the penalty area not outisde and we put the resulting penalty away the momentum was with us and we could've gone on to get something from the game, but from on Harrogate managed the game very well and could've scored a couple more goals.
An afternoon to forget with one of the worst first halves I've ever seen from Crawley and I almost feel sorry for Mark Wright as he will get negative headlines now as a reality TV star in what was a real baptism of fire in the first half, but you have to wonder what the heck is going on with Yems recently why did he pick Wright when he had Dallison available? Why did he have that bizarre outburst on Tuesday? Why is Dallison being benched? And why were the last two games so bad? Is something going on behind the scenes? Has having a high profile reality TV star upset the rest of the players and is it becoming a distraction?
So many questions after those last two games. The next two cannot be so bad. It can surely only get better!
The bloke made his football league debut today. The one thing we can all be sure of is that it ain't the debutant's fault when 10 other players gad a mare! He is an easy target. He's famous. He appeared on reality TV but it was he debut. Give the guy a break.
Jim Baker
Ps. I have never watched Towie, I have never met the bloke or his family and if he said hello to me I wouldn't know him from Adam.
I don’t think anyone is witchhunting the guy but his positioning and movement were poor. There was one point when he was around the halfway line making the pass, the movement broke down and suddenly his opponent winger was something like 20 or 30 yards ahead of him as he was ambling back. Absolutely no way a defence can work covering that. Is it simply more experience, match fitness that will get him up to scratch? Or are his 30something legs not up to job? Maybe we’ll see but equally he may not get another chance.
No doubt everyone was off their game, Tunnicliffe is our best defender by miles and we will miss him, but without him it was totally the wrong time to blood a guy like Wright.
The midfield mix was bad today, and Yems has got to think what his best combo is there.
I don’t think this should be anything more than a blip but we are not getting all the fine margins right at the moment and that’s making it look bad. Might not take much to fix though so am fine to trust Yems to do it given what he’s achieved over the past year.
What's the odds on a my return to football documentary with Crawley getting a share of the proceeds and Yems is fast becoming the worst team selection tinkerer we have ever had.
What would help the fans expectations is if the club let us the fans know why certain players are absent. Sesay for example injured or on naughty step? Danny Bulman injured or has his age caught up with him? German looked a good prospect last year, now completely off radar. Lewis Young, I know he is now got a coaching role but offered a threat going forward. I seem to remember he got a one year player contract extension late last season.

I recall Lewis saying he has a bad injury in an interview in pre season.
