I still think it’s madness we’ve loaned a true left footed left back to a rival team in our division
I can only assume its about balancing the books as Mark Wright is less costly on match by match also i'm guessing did not command a high wage anyway, then throw in the mix that Dallison is playing better at LB and it makes sense for the club and player that if not getting regular game time, he does on loan, though it would be normal for him to not play against us when we meet shortly in the league.
There was an interview with Selim or Erdem where it was said that Josh was allowed to leave because it had become clear he would not be signing a new contract (his current one runs out in the summer) and it was felt we would be better to develop players who wish to be here rather than ones who do not.
When I heard this I did expect to see Tsaroulla more than Wright but the principal behind the judgement call is pretty sound. Why play Doherty when Dalison, Sesay, Tsaroulla and Wright are all here and wish to remain?

Thanks that explains a lot.
I know josh very very well and he wanted very much to stay at Crawley even happy to stay and fight for his place! Somebody is telling lies to cover their mistakes and use a quiet professional like josh to justify it , I’m pretty sure josh has not been asked anything about what has happened! Ask Yems if he wants josh to leave to see the truth? If you want to keep a player offer them a contract simple!!
I was a bit vague about the interview and the part of the interview regarding Josh Doherty so I went and checked.
It should be noted that I am not "in the know". I have no "friends" at the club giving me information and I make no claims about the veracity or otherwise of the statement made by the club...that should be a good enough disclaimer!
The transfer of Josh Doherty was discussed on Talk of the Town, episode 27 (Orient on Tuesday) at the 23 minute mark by Erdem.
It boiled down to 'the club cannot force anyone to enter contract discussions, it was a bit of a shock that he didn't want to discuss a new contract'.
I think Josh D has improved every season so good luck to him, I’m sure he’ll do well.
I feel for Mark Wright, he’s come in with very little game time and from the front two back we were shocking. He might have benefited from a few sub appearances to get a feel and some confidence. The wolves were always going to be ready for his fall from grace, and unfortunately that’s the social media/press world we live in.
In my opinion the good run we were on was based on a settled core to the team. Back 4 were looking solid with Powell and Hess having a good understanding in the middle. I’m not really understanding why we needed this changing. Ok we had to make couple of changes for Bournemouth with covid and Tunni injured. That team served us well for about 8 league games unbeaten. I feel the places up for grabs are out wide and someone to partner Nichols.

Fair point, didn't our purple patch begin after Tunni's last return from enforced absence...?

Indeed. Amongst the outfield players, for me his name would be the first on the teamsheet when fit. I feel uncomfortable about the Doherty situation. He has improved over time and turned in some good performances despite what some of his detractors say. And at 24, he has to be a better long term prospect than Mark Wright. I felt sorry for Wright Saturday and have nothing personal against him or his brother but it does seem that we have disrupted a settled side to accommodate them. Hessenthaler is now playing out of position and we looked totally disjointed on Saturday. The first 45 minutes was the worst I have seen for some time and while we can accept an off day, it's not acceptable for players to lose the ball then stand and watch the other guy run off with it.
I do wonder if we almost have too many players of a similar nature. I thought Tilley did okay with his limited opportunities when he came on during the Orient game. He was completely missing from the squad Saturday, whereas Frost returned after quite a few weeks of not being in the squad at all. I know we have a busy schedule ahead and need to rotate players but it doesn't help continuity and the lack of information leads to speculation.

I agree about Tilley, he looks like he’s got great potential and has put in 2 or 3 crosses that were begging to be put away in the brief Cambridge/orient appearances.
For me Nadesan is the most frustrating player. Plenty of ability, but no work rate or desire. Compare his performances and effort in the Leeds and Bournemouth games to the less glamorous league games. Just completely missing, same as us starting with 10. Earlier in the season Nadesan was coming on as sub and causing all sorts of problems, recent league games nothing. I feel he is better from the bench as being benched seems to give him a kick up the bum. Maguire-Drew or Matthews to play off Nichols until Grego-cox is back.
Both Tilley and Maquire-Drew impressed me when they came on and Archie Davies would be my choice at right back.I agree Nadesan makes it better as an impact sub.
