Unlike the rolling hills and beautiful meadows of Tilgate, and the fine tree-lined boulevards of Broadfield.
Actually thought we played better today than against Walsall, and that we deserved the win against a really poor side.
I'm not slating Barrow as a town - I have never been. But, the back drop of the ground was as desolate and unwelcoming as any ground I have seen or been to. Those weeds growing through the concrete carpark were prize-winners, and the openness between the stands welcomed in the wind. I am not looking to play top trumps of town v town, but saying the remoteness of Barrow and bleakness of the stadium and its environs should hand them some advantage
I mean, it’s a lower league football ground. What were you expecting, the hanging gardens of Babylon, herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain

They should make John Yems Head Scout. He is a good talent scout, but not a good manager. This season should of been a Certain Promotion. The early selling of Max Watters has cost us 6 points, playing Josh Wright 8 times has cost us another 6 points. Not Managing Jake Hesketh Injuries/Fitness has cost us another 4 points. Constantly playing Tony Craig when there are Better Defenders in the Squad has cost us another 4 points. Bad Substitutions and No PLAN B invariably has cost us another 4 points. The points we have LEAKED AWAY is unbelievable. We should be TOP, never mind chasing the Play-Offs. New Owners Needed, New Manager Needed, Keep John Yems as Head Scout!

Irony is, the one time I went there it was a lovely spring afternoon and it looked alright!

Interesting as always but lets just say Yems is the man for the job and mid table is as good as it gets unless we start to keep players who show any talent

I made a point of how long it would be before the commentators mentioned Josh Wright to day it was 25 minutes he just seems to disappear and then his passing is crap. Every other club he's been with have let him go not much to have on your cv. He is just not a patch on Bulman when he was his age i hope we release him soon.
Don't like to pick out individuals but do you know the common link between every loss since January. A certain J.Wright has started all the games. To be fair he did start against Leyton Orient when we drew against 10 men. All our victories have been when he doesn't start and I know he has been on the pitch when we've scored some last minute winners but he did not really contribute to any of them. It's hard to know what he offers defensive cover? nope. Attacking threat? nope. Keeps the ball? nope. It was highlighted today when we equalise and he hits the ball to the wing in the air agaist the wind. We lose possession when they are on the ropes when for the last few games we haven't been great but our game management has been ok. He plays like a teenager not a pro with 10+ years behind him. I know he's in because Hesketh is injured and we lack central midfield cover but I'd rather a younger guy was in there learning the game or Bully who looked good in the friendly and clearly has 60 or do minutes in him as a temporary replacement. I watch him and just go, what do you actually do, he does make a few good touches now and again but he's in the engine room and we need more then that and Hess seems to play better without him. When Orient fans commented on the transfer they said he may do better in a team pushing nearer the top as he goes missing too often. I have to agree.

If there is a prize for best post of the season, we should award it now

I am Fed up with most of you fans thinking Mid Table is ok! I have been to watch Crawley 57 times AWAY from home in the last 10 years. Any match North of Northampton I was probably there (ex pandemic)! I have seen bad Crawley Players, Bad Crawley Teams over the last 10 years. In December 2020 I recognized this Group as being the best Group of Players ever assembled at Crawley. This is mainly down to the Scouting Talents of John Yems. But while Steve McClaren was a GREAT Training Ground Coach that didnt make him a GREAT Manager as we all know! This Group of Players we had at our disposal in Decemeber 2020 should have got Promoted - Simple as that - and for most of you lot to think Mid Table is ok is Totally Wrong! We should be TOP of the Table had the Management & Owners made the Corect Decisions. Unbelievable mistakes have been made with the Greatest Bunch of Talent this club will ever see!

We’ve discussed this on the forum before, In my opinion I don’t think promotion would be great for us anyway. When we did get promoted to League 1 our attendance only increased marginally and we had (like we do now) a bottom half budget. Until we build up a fan base or have multi-billionaire investors which you’ll find is very rare for a club at our level we are better off staying in league 2 as we wouldn’t last long in league 1 anyway. It’s a hard pill to swallow but it’s reality it’s a shame the people of this town don’t show the same enthusiasm for the club and sell out the attendance every week like we do when we play against a big side🤷♂️. I think the fact that Yems/Bradbury and the Owner and his team have gotten us in the top half of the table with a low budget using this new model of finding lower league gems just shows how good our scouting is and that we’re willing to give youngsters and rejects a chance.
