I don't see that this matters. It is a public forum and anyone and everyone is welcome. The fact that he (she) chooses to remain anonymous behind a generic user name is no different to most of us on here.
The more posters, the better the forum will be and if the views of some posters on here prevent the forum from becoming a confirmatory echo chamber and challenge our own perceptions, then all the better.

I am Fed up with most of you fans thinking Mid Table is ok! I have been to watch Crawley 57 times AWAY from home in the last 10 years. Any match North of Northampton I was probably there (ex pandemic)! I have seen bad Crawley Players, Bad Crawley Teams over the last 10 years. In December 2020 I recognized this Group as being the best Group of Players ever assembled at Crawley. This is mainly down to the Scouting Talents of John Yems. But while Steve McClaren was a GREAT Training Ground Coach that didnt make him a GREAT Manager as we all know! This Group of Players we had at our disposal in Decemeber 2020 should have got Promoted - Simple as that - and for most of you lot to think Mid Table is ok is Totally Wrong! We should be TOP of the Table had the Management & Owners made the Corect Decisions. Unbelievable mistakes have been made with the Greatest Bunch of Talent this club will ever see!
We’ve discussed this on the forum before, In my opinion I don’t think promotion would be great for us anyway. When we did get promoted to League 1 our attendance only increased marginally and we had (like we do now) a bottom half budget. Until we build up a fan base or have multi-billionaire investors which you’ll find is very rare for a club at our level we are better off staying in league 2 as we wouldn’t last long in league 1 anyway. It’s a hard pill to swallow but it’s reality it’s a shame the people of this town don’t show the same enthusiasm for the club and sell out the attendance every week like we do when we play against a big side🤷‍♂️. I think the fact that Yems/Bradbury and the Owner and his team have gotten us in the top half of the table with a low budget using this new model of finding lower league gems just shows how good our scouting is and that we’re willing to give youngsters and rejects a chance.
Absolutely correct. We had 3 seasons in League 1 and apart from the odd great result against the likes of Sheff Utd or Wolves, I don’t think the period is remembered amazingly fondly when compared to the times of our rise through the leagues. At that level we cling on by our fingertips and it can be a grind. Barker did well but he was a remarkably uncharismatic figure so the bond with fans was never there and of course the job overwhelmed Gregory. I’m not saying I don’t want us to get promoted but I’m content watching us play good football at the right end of League 2 until the structural circumstances of the club change in terms of much greater investment. This has actually been a very good season, the quality of our passing football has exceeded our promotion sides in my opinion and the Leeds game will vie with Old Trafford as the club’s greatest moment. We are actually in a golden period and people should take a breath and enjoy it
We were reasonably okay in league 1 until finances decreed that our old team would need to be broken up. This occurred when contracts came up for renewal and it became apparent that the money pot was depleting. The choice was to continue paying the same wages and risk non-existence, or pay lower wages to players who weren't as good and risk relegation. Even then, we held on for a massive final-day scramble amongst multiple clubs. It might be worth noting that the three clubs who went down with us that season have all since been relegated from the Football League, though Leyton Orient did manage to return.

Personally, I felt the first few months of our first season in league one were great as we had momentum, and occupier 3rd place until late October. There were other high points that season, such as winning at Portsmouth, and as you say, the victory at Sheffield United was simply fantastic and also reignited a late playoff push. But you’re right, the next two seasons weren’t as good.
