We've all seen that shocking post-match interview after Scunthorpe and many more before that where Yems insults, attacks and alienates supporters. Either apologise for calling fans didlios/dildos or go. No excuses. Apologise or go. I've had enough of his bigheaded, arrogant, rude, ignorant approach - and so have many other Crawley fans.

so here we see the beauty of a forum - on passionate fan who along with others calls for the manager to go and myself and many others who think Yems is over achieving and should be held in high esteem. We are all entitled to our views and obviously each think we are correct. My only real concern abut the Yems bashing is that if you knock somebody over so many tines eventually they don't get up and I would hate Mr Yems to think that he is not wanted here - he has been a breath of fresh air and ok maybe struggles at press conferences on occasions but that's not enough to crucify the guy.
Actually I think its a fair point being made here as you cannot have the manager of a football club slagging off its fans (or at least some of them) in the way he has been doing its massive bad publicity and an OG. I do not want to see Yems go, but I do want an apology; I imagine I'm like 99% of football fans that moan and groan at times when things are not going my clubs way and hey guess what John that will at some point no doubt have included you so am I not a real fan? Are you a real football manager? So how about doing the decent thing and apologising?

The word was diddle-o, not dildo. I posted elsewhere what that means as defined in an urban dictionary. As it is little-used slang, people will have differing perceptions on what it means, but it's definitely not dildo. As far as insults go I regard it as very mild. I doubt that the word would bother you if we were runaway leaders of league 2. Personally, I think JY has gone too easy on those he was describing, but I suppose he has to keep it clean enough for public consumption

Although some team managers are articulate, that is a bonus rather than being part of the job description. I'd rather have a more brash style and someone telling it the way it is. It's probably better that he doesn't have a little prod (not with a dildo) at a small part of the fan base as it can look unprofessional. He ought to rise above it, but it's not a big deal if he doesn't. I don't believe resignation, sacking, or an apology are needed, but it might be better if he simply ignores it.
Of course nobody expects a football manager to be appointed primarily for their communication skills, but being able to communicate with and via the media surely is a requirement in the modern day.
Being able to do so without throwing insults around - especially towards people who are ultimately customers - cannot be too much to expect
Don't forget, when he is having his little rants, he is at work and representing his employers on their official channels. The official website is the Club's window to the world: an outlet to new and old fans globally, potential sponsors etc. Not to mention those brands who have their logo emblazoned on it
In no other job would his behaviour be tolerated. It is not as if private conversations have been leaked: he is berating supporters of the Club publicly and the Club appear to be endorsing it by giving him an outlet on their channels
Yems is surely intelligent enough to express his frustrations around some fans' frustrations without resorting to insults and questioning their validity as fans
For him to continue in this manner puts him, and in turn the Club, in a poor light. Action of some sort needs to be taken to stop the rot
For context I am satisfied with our footballing performance this year overall but reserve the right to express a view on games. What I am not willing to accept is being abused by a Club employee for doing so
Who would the supporters rather have a manager like either Barker, Kewell who were so far up them selves and also did not respect what supporters thought, or Coffey who was out of his depth. At least Yems is down to earth and doing a good job with the resources he has to play with. When i was working I heard foremen call workers under them far worse than what Yems called some spectators so just move on and be thankful we are not at the usual end of the league we have found ourselves in past seasons.
I've said before I prefer it when the manager shows some passion.
It also gets me that it seems fine to criticise the club, manager and players but a bit comes back and it's a sacking offence.
If you criticise someone you are then "fair game" to get criticism back. You cannot complain if you're doing it yourself.
As to which word he used...I think I would prefer to be called an inanimate object which has been known to give pleasure to millions of women than to be called a moron. I'm not going to bother going back and find out which.
He should neither apologise or go but he may wish to focus on things he can affect.

Excellent points made here. Yems insults aimed at fans can easily be regarded as the club attacking its own supporters. Yems is spokensman for the club in these moments. And lets remember its not like we are talking about fans having caused fights, thrown fireworks, ripped up goal posts or any other manner that a club might feel quite rightly they no longer want those so called fans as part of the club. Carry on the way you are John and it'll be your own downfall as fans WILL turn on you and then will you have any more toys in your pram to throw? Oh, you don't like my tone well neither do I when myself and fellow supporters are insulted by you. Apologise or go. Absolutely.

What a waste of internet bandwidth this thread is, the utter eggshell personalities and thin skin of some fans. Leave John alone, most entertaining football for years and a man who talks how all of us talk, not programmed by PR men and political correctness. I’ve called a few of our performances utter crap this season and I’m not pretending big bad John is stopping me having an opinion
In any other industry a senior member of staff coming out and publicly criticizing and insulting paying customers whether their complaints reasonable or illegitimate would be disciplined or at the very least made to apologize. The fact the club are allowing a senior representative of theirs to come out and criticize and insult paying customers can only be taken as an endorsement of Yems' sentiment. This comes across as Yems and the club having contempt for their fans/customers. I have yet to see anything libelous, defamatory or any personal attacks/ insults aimed at Yems or his family which would overstep the mark being made on here or on the Crawely Town fans facebook page. Twitter I don't know, as I don't read that as the comments aren't moderated and are totally anonymous so I don't think you can take most of what's said on their too seriously plus it's worth bearing in mind, all clubs will have lots of nonsense on Twitter, this is totally normal! All of the criticism I've seen has been directed about the on the field matters- totally run of the mill stuff! This is part of culture of football and fans are entitled to their opinions especially those that pay their money as well! While Yems and the club may feel some of criticism is unfair and unreasonable they have to rise above it. The fact that they aren't shows that they are both unprofessional.
If the club carry on allowing Yems to come out and insult the fans they will alienate the fans and see a drop in Ifollow and ticket sales. it's their choice. They can end this now by getting Yems to apologize and get Bradbury to do the interviews. It's not hard.
P.s for the record I am happy with how we've done this season and think Yems is overall doing a good job. Why he can't just apologize and the club let Bradbury do the interviews I don't know. It just unnecessarily alienates supporters and paints Yems and the club in a bad light.

It will be a sad day if this silly campaign to make football more boring and colourless ever succeeds. Imagine narking to the directors to tell the manager off, traffic warden mentality
