I dont think it does anyone any favours that the club allow these interviews to go out.
On the other hand it is all a lot of something and nothing. 6 points of the play offs, a decent cup run, I would say John has done a good job. Better than a lot of managers in recent times.

are you for real?
Why wouldn’t he be? Which part of the post isn’t true?
We were overachieving up to the Leeds game, now we are underachieving.
Unfortunately that is inevitable with our resources. The owners were putting in £1m a year even before Covid struck.
Of course we will always be a selling club. We had our years of uncontrollable spending and sunk like a stone when Paul Hayward's joyride ended. We had our years of wasting money on expensive journeymen like Morais and Vincelot, and the years of useless foreign players like Verheydt and Sanoh.
Other clubs like Crewe have shown you can survive on a youth strategy, but we need to accept that for every Max Watters there will be 3 or 4 others that struggle.
But hey ho, it isn't my call, and I doubt someone like JY will be put off by a few spotty kids on a forum who think Noli Cedere is an Italian midfielder.

It has put him off though, otherwise he wouldn’t have mentioned it in an interview(twice).
We are an average L2 club with a very small budget what do some people expect
We nearly lost our club on a number of occasions and I for one am thankful the current regime and the ones after those dark days saved our club and continue to support it
Managers will come and go but who realistically could do a better job on the limited managers salary and playing budget we have?
So John Yems should apologise for calling some people Didleo's?
My God, I've been called far worse, but so what? Sticks and stones etc........
Imagine the enemy coming at you armed with bayonets and they then start calling you names. What would you do, turn around and run away?
The Lefties, The Biased Broadcasting Corporation, Wokes and Snowflakes will no doubt advise you to seek counselling for your mental health.
FFS, Man Up and grow a pair of Knackers.

John, I agree that anyone genuinely mentally wounded by Yems' needless name calling needs help
However, the context and dynamic of a manager insulting and trying to divide the fanbase speaks volumes about his state and attitude and isn't healthy, normal, right or professional
It has echoes of Donald Trump's last year in office ringing in my ears

Think you've got that the wrong way around.
Someone who is employed as the manager of a professional football club upset by a few diddly-I-dos on a message board being a bit critical about him?.
He leaves himself wide open to ridicule. If he gets nice results we think his engagement via the media is quirky and live with it. If he delivers the performances he has over the last few games (all the imitations budget wise etc accepted) he will be called out for the mad things he says. He and his 'snowflake' fans need to live with that.

Don't give them ideas - they might want Trump as manager.

Come on, Trump? Isn’t the real context that JY has been a long time in the game, fancies himself as a bit of a purveyor of amusing lines, so much of what he says has a pretty tongue in cheek edge? For sure humour is a very subjective thing and you either get it or you don’t. I happen to find it funny because it’s a nice antidote to the modern clipboard manager who just comes out with a string of platitudes that is about “managing” supporters themselves rather than telling the truth. Yems isn’t like that, for good or ill you know what’s on his mind - it’s honest and you know where you stand with him. To be honest if the team hadn’t suffered this dramatic dip in form, would we even be discussing this?
I think we should be as honest as John. By all means criticise his managerial decisions, his subs, his tactics, his selections - but leave his personality alone

But aren’t you confirming here that if he was winning games, you wouldn’t be mentioning it? So how important is it really?
Of course by all means take the micky out of the manager if you want, free speech works all ways, and I don’t have to like it. But it’s the pretence that we are talking great issues of principle here that strikes a few of us as a bit of humbug
