I don't believe that anyone wants JY to go at this stage, and especially for reasons that aren't purely football related
If anything the current spat and stand-off between some fans (me certainly included) and JY is taking attention away from our current footballing plight; this needs full focus to at least enable us to start next season on the front foot
It is also a headache I am sure the Club's hierarchy could do without. They must have enough on their plate as it is.
I don't see JY as the sort to swallow his pride and apologise for his comments, and I, for one, don't want to see a man publicly embarrassed. What I do want is for the fan/manager relationship to be re-set. A new season on the horizon presents an ideal opportunity to do this.
Some of JY's comments have undoubtedly been irresponsible and inappropriate, as well as counter-productive. As a high-profile representative of CTFC and the man who chooses the team and tactics it is only to be expected that questions will be asked if things don't work out. Whoever is in the hot-seat can expect this. Managing the fans' expectations and understanding of what is/isn't going on behind the scenes to an appropriate degree rather than putting up the shutters when all isn't well would help. We might not be numpties if we understood things a little better
Anecdotally JY is a really decent bloke, and I have no reason to doubt it. Whether his demeanor in interviews is nerves, bravado, humour I don't know. A little more thought or a change of tack is all that is needed to rebuild a good and mutually supportive relationship where what happens on the pitch is the topic of conversation, whether it is good or bad

I actually think it's mostly his brand of humour. Some are tuned into it, some aren't. I sometimes offend people because some think I'm mocking them when I'm really laughing at myself. It's happened more as I've aged, because I don't take myself so seriously these days. I suspect JY may have gone through such a process too.

Very well put. Though sadly, regarding your opening line, I expect some do.
Who gives a CRAP what he says. I real fan just wants the team to do well and the team is not doing well. Because of previous form at Bournemouth and because he had a very good initial 12 months as manager at Crawley he deserves another chance, but a few more bad results or if his next 2 closed season signings are as bad as the last 5 signings he will be gone! decent guy or no decent guy!

Glad you now see he deserves a chance but must disagree again as he is doing a good job given that in my view he only has a very average squad. Anybody who talked of playoffs once Watters left was just dreaming although maybe we all need to dream given year everybody has had.
So best get those toys back in their prams and we can all move on.
you don't half talk some b0llocks its simple Simon Yems represents the club and he8 insults its fans what is there not to understand? If you can't see that get yourself a new pair of glasses. He may not apologise, but just like we had a previous manager in the attack on fans away from home eventually leave the club so will Yems if he continues to upset fans. So its simple Simon he MUST apologise.

Eh? If you’re referring to Kewell, then yes he left, but not for another 9 months and of his own accord, totally unrelated. So don’t try pointing to that as some sort of proof that this will be the end of Yems. In fact funnily enough, every manager we’ve ever had has ended up leaving...including Yems actually.

He isn't going to apologise, so get over yourself.
Let me share a secret with you too- all managers eventually leave the club.
He only insulted a few of the fans, and the insult was a minor one directed at a very few twats.
I felt insulted and I don't consider myself to be a twat. I am not a JY disciple and have given negative feedback around recent performances. I don't think his comments were directed very well at all and were broadly based: if you aren't totally behind me then you are a numpty and not a real fan
As i have said in a previous post I think that it is time to move on and draw a line under it. A change in behaviour is better than hollow words
That said, it is not solely JY's (or any other employee's) choice as to when and if they move on. I believe some of his comments could well constitute misconduct, and depending on the basis of his contract and any investigation and subsequent action, an apology might be required amongst and as well other more severe repercussions.
I will be amazed if he hasn't been spoken to about his comments and fully expect a change in tone and approach. This absolutely needs to be the case. Keep the honesty but lose the barbed insults
I want to go back to talking about the football. All this JY chat is taking a lot of focus away from the football; it has been poor lately. If I were JY I'd be lapping this current debate up as it is redirecting a lot of negative attention away from where it should be centred
It would almost be a master class in diversionary tactics were it intentional..

so in the spirit of talking football and lightening the mood a bit, I thought I would share my 5 key memories (deliberately leaving out the cup game against Man U as I think everybody would mention that!) from supporting the Reds as well as favourite home / away player - could be a new thread if people have similar thoughts. 1)A 0-0 home draw against Exeter in 1971 in 1st round of FA CUP. As a non league team this felt huge and in my teenage years this game provided all the then FA Cup excitement and drama - it was as good as it got in the first round proper at home to a league team. The game wasn’t great and Exeter fans were in ‘OUR’ end behind the goal for a while but they weren’t able to stay there for long! Unfortunately we lost the replay 2-0 but I still remember tuning the radio in shortly before 10 o’clock to hear the results as no internet in those days and no other way to get result.
2) When we were promoted in 2012 at Accrington – great day out and great result. It’s not all about the football and the drinks in the pubs before the game with beer so cheap that it seemed that we were continuously on a BOGOF - happy days.
3) Jump forward a year to a fairly empty Broadfield stadium in the JPT against Newport when Mike Jones showed some magic with a goal from the half way line!! Sometimes you question why it’s worth going to such a game- here was the answer!!
4) A bit odd but was our second last game in League 1 away to Peterborough - we lost 4-3 after coming back from behind to lead 3-2. The home fans weren’t over friendly and teasing us about relegation but we were winning and looked safe for another year. Then calamity – goals in the 87th and 90th minutes saw us lose which was then followed by a last game home defeat and we were down. We were so close, so much joy until they equalised so late then so much despair – what a game football is!
5) and last but not least was Leeds this year – in a COVID world of such despair what a result and what a win – sitting in front of TV alone but proud and happy – the power of football.
I haven’t included the MAN U cup tie which I nearly missed as coach broke down on way at Oxford and we arrived as players were coming onto pitch but happy with my 5 mixed bag of emotions!
Favourite Crawley Player – A certain Mr Brodie just for his exuberance and strange gait which always seemed to suggest he would fall over yet he scored plenty!
Favourite Away Player – Has to be Kevin Ellison - a real gem who when accosted with ‘you dirty Northerner’ at his first touch by the West Stand would always give some banter back - great player still scoring goals in league 2

Of the games you mention, the only one I was at was the Accrington game (and the Man U one, of course ). As far as away players go, I recall some game at Town Mead. I've no idea of the guy's name or even who we were playing, but I think the big defender was in a bad mood about something (possibly about losing). I was in my early-mid 20s and was near a load of kids. The irritated defender had quite a bushy beard at a time when not too many people did. Whenever he got the ball the kids kept singing, "Have a shave, have a shave, have a shave...". At the end he came over and wanted to take the kids apart - I mean, they really were children, not young adults. One of his team mates grabbed him and stopped him making himself look even more daft. I can only imagine he might have had something going on in his personal life - the kids weren't abusive, just taking the piss a little, as you do.
