Their keeper had NO attempts to save. HK desyroyed the shape when took Payne off and thereafter it was clueless desperate pathetic attempt to equalise.

Did we have any shape to destroy?
Payne looks class when passing sideways deep in his own half but as an attacking threat didn't offer anything and as it stands neither him nor Randall are worth a place.
If he has a role it needs to be further forward, with Bully protecting the back 4.

but Payne was doung that job you want Bullman to do superbly. Best game he has ever had. The formation looked like 4-1-4-1 & the shape was reasonably present in midfield but the latter stages of the game was men behind the ball and as many 'forwards' on the pitch as possible.
Ditch our current kit and have a look in a few party costume shops...anything suitable for Halloween will scare the opposition more than our lot attacking.

Well before the game started I thought Notts County would be a good side given there start to the season but I can safely say they were not very good today. They were well drilled and strong but were by no means a good side to watch. As for us I lost all enthusiasm for our chances today at around 2pm when the team was announced. I understand that they are near the top but you really need to start with more attacking players at home then just Meite by himself.
Against Yeovil we had an exciting selection of forwards with pace wanting to go at the defence, today we had nothing like that. I can understand having Roberts on the bench as he is coming back from injury but why is Camara on the bench? why is Cox not even in the 18? Both them players played well against Yeovil and attacked. For me you cant have Payne, Bulman, Randall and Smith in the same team when they are all defensive or central midfielders. Randall looked lost on the left, Bulman shouldn't be going much further then the half way line yet he was almost an attacking midfielder. Payne can play some lovely balls in his own half with no pressure on him but that's not much help when it comes to scoring goals.
I have praised HK and his team when they have done well and we have won games because of his tactics and team selection but today he got it very wrong and he and his team are the only people to blame for this defeat today. I hope for a more attacking line-up for the next home game!!

If Payne is going to play in that role then there is no need for Bulman. He was a passenger in that advanced midfield role.
If it was 4-1-4-1 then even Kewell will have worked out it doesnt work as our zero shots on target showed.
You can get away with 1 up front when you have a quality forward like Collins but not with what we have now.
I think we would of won today if Dean Cox had been on the bench....Notts County have only lost one game all season so not surprising we lost. Our season will not be defined by matches against top 5 teams...mind it's a poor division if Notts County are top 5...
Just to state to RRR, the goal was not Yorwerths fault ( although you will clearly say it was)...Young played a ball to the opposition in their half...when Lelan tried to challenge he slipped and young could not get back. However, we should all blame Yorwerth, as its RRRs pet player to hate for this season

actually im not sure who took the kick off but lets rewind to that player.

Weren't Stevenage and Swindon in the top 6 when we took 4 points off them away? In fact Yeovil were also in the top half.
If you are saying our season will be defined by games against the likes of Port Vale, Colchester and Cheltenham it's not looking too promising is it.
Still it wouldn't be a matchday without you trotting along to tell us what a fantastic job HK is doing.
As for Cox he couldn't have been more ineffective than Sanoh or Randall surely.
Ps I see Michael Brown has been fired by PV tonight. They have only won one game all season....guess who the fall guys were?
The truth us we have played 4 home games and the paying fans have seen one positive result.
We can say give Kewell time at but we are not a good team. Today was appalling to watch. We have no stickers and a defence that makes costly mistakes every game.
A real shame today after all the efforts of Joe Comper and Co to create some buzz with lots of new potential customers (& mum's and dad's) and we serve up that crap after an encouraging display at Stevenage. Why did we think loading midfield with four fairly similar players, especially as we kept playing it back and then hoofing it for Meite to chase in vain. Then he takes off Payne who was doing a decent job of holding midfield together, when Randall was prime candidate to be hooked and replaced with Roberts. Completely lost our way after that. Notts did a job, worked the ref very well and wasted time but we're very average, but they didn't need to be any good. As somebody said it was like watching Yates hoofball and worryingly HK thought we were ok 2nd half. End of 1st half was ok, 2nd half was a disaster.
