"For a full interview with Crawley Town owners on the digital revolution at the League Two Club, buy tomorrows I-weekend"
Funnily enough, it is the one print paper that I always still treat myself to, a decent read, great value... ...and it covers the entire weekend... plus... I can - just about - complete the general knowledge crossword without googling...!

It's the only national paper I bother with, mainly because it doesn't involve itself with political histrionics. I subscribe to its digital version at a mere £4.99 a month (includes weekday and weekend). It seemed to be the only paper that gave a balanced and accurate report of the club vs. John Yems. I have the daily paper on my screen by 5am if I want it that early, and I can print out the word wheel, the binary puzzle, and the hexagon number puzzle. They seem too easy since I figured out the methods.
Generally, the football reporting is low on quantity but of reasonable quality, but they don't usually bother much about lower league games.
Hasnt the club completely missed the point here? Like, I mean, oversees fans see us on ifollow playing in all red and then wanna purchase an exclusive 3rd kit, I'm guessing eventually designed by supporters that pay the cryptic currency, a kit in all pink (or whatever)? Why would you want a shirt never worn, or would this 3rd kit become the 2nd then eventually 1st? I wanna see the club play in all red that's what we are... Reds. No other design or colour required.

These guys are paying thousands for a picture of a cartoon ape George. I doubt they’ll be too fussed that the shirt never gets worn, it’ll be the prestige of owning a Crawley Town NFT that gives them the value 😉

The overseas NFT buyers are more into WAGMI Utd than CTFC - and a erm... "Jersey" has already been spotted out there.
Which is the quintessential dichotomy that George raises in his post and actually the owners are very aware of the need to balance the two parties. However the quoted piece from the snippet is either ambiguous, poorly worded or displays questionable maths skills for a trained analyst:
“Last season the club sold two different kits in the club shop, that will be the same for this season, but on top of that a third kit will be sold via NFT”
Crawley Co-owner Preston Johnson told I:
"It will be an exclusive kit you can get if you have an NFT AND THEN there will be two options - for those that are local or ordering online in the UK or our American or overseas friends”.
I will helpfully suggest that makes a total of 3 options (2 standard/1 NFT)... ...although arguably it could also be 4 options (2 standard/1 NFT UK, 1 NFT non-UK)... ...but cannot ever be just 2 options... erm... Dude...(?)

Thad, you seem to be going down an ever deepening hole of gloom.
Whilst so many of us can't wait for the new season (which is a fantastic first for many) having cheaper tickets, exciting new staff / players to look forward too and much more info being shared than ever before all you seem to be able to do is nit-pick. Not sure why that is but I'd urge you to try and look at the half glass full scenario and try to enjoy some of what is to come.
I also hate what happened to John Yems and feel it wasn't handled well by many people and organisations and feel he has been given a very raw deal.
I do realise that for many of us local supporters the new model means communications will be coming from different channels and the web site is no longer the place to be but the new owners need those new channels and models to work to be a success. The NFT crowd need some exclusivity otherwise why would they fork out to get them.
I'm not sure if any of us can help you be more hopeful but maybe just give the guys a chance to prove you wrong (or even right!) and don't expect them to be the same as us local fans because they aren't. Using Jersey isn't a problem nor soccer if we get points on the board (whoops that might be tennis!)
This is good news surely? All genuine fans will want to see if the funding model of NFTs works, whether they are sceptical it will or not. For that to happen, the owners need to get on creating and marketing these products ASAP, to tap this potential overseas fan base while we still have first-mover advantage. The NFT has to aim to be a little bit different to the usual shirt to have that exclusivity cache, if the overseas fans also want the usual Red shirt they will no doubt get one of those too - we are aiming at marketing to people with a fair bit of disposable cash who are interested in this entire Web3 concept.
A vaguely interesting side thing will be if any old-time fans over here will get one, but I suspect we'll be prioritising funding some decent away trips to see all those Telford hat-tricks

Can anyone point out precisely where the gloom is...? Blimey - I actually stuck to the point.
I simply responded to the issues raised by Mattyman & George (in which I was actually supportive of the owners)... ...and highlighted a case of poor semantics in the article, which made the mathematics unsound.
For anyone to actually treat that last point seriously, is really very strange... ...particular if they also - very mysteriously - overlook the genuine criticism from George & Peespottage. I suspect that they are in the first stage of a man crush...(?)
I read the full I-weekend article (will post a photo if others want it...?) Funnily enough, it made only the most cursory reference to the 3rd shirt.
It is a significant improvement on the more sensational media stuff that they have put out previously. Credit to the Hack (Mark Douglas) who concisely set the context, in particular crypto & NFT and also Spoiler Alert: Preston & Eben.
They dropped the "Wayne's World" persona and came across as grown-ups, very importantly they reigned in the "anything is possible" stuff too. I totally agree with PJ's opinion of Socios, absolute shotgun marriage that was never going to work even if it had been properly executed and he gave clear reasons why their offering was different.
Assuming you have been keeping up with events, the “news” items are: - they have set clearer parameters for where NFT decisions end & the Manager's responsibility starts. - they have put back the NFT drop from June to July - they have appointed a video analyst, strength & conditioning coach, head of medical team & a chef.
Looking at the photo, I will helpfully suggest that Preston needs to understand that he is not in Kansas (or California) anymore... get some sunblock Dude…!
For balance... The Guardian piece "Crawley Town's Official Magic Beans" was not Wayne’s World either... it was more Bill & Ted meets Beavis & Butthead. Blimey Westander is sure to blame me…!

ok accept that I missed the humour and glad you are as up for it as the rest of us. Your previous update was nicely balanced and yes please to the photo you offered. Looking forward to seeing you with your popcorn and chilli dog
Being in the area for the weekend, I had a very nice pub lunch yesterday with Thad and his charming companion and I can assure you he is in fine spirit. Given our respective ages we easily have into 3 figures in terms of years supporting CTFC and we both want the club to do well. It is our team. I have renewed my season ticket after much deliberation and really hope that Kevin and the boys have a fantastic season. That doesn’t mean I am not going to be critical of the whole affair surrounding John Yems, the way it was handled and the fall out from that for him and his family. Some people may not know or care but as far as we are concerned, even if we do have a successful season, there will be something imperceptible lingering which, as my learned friend put it, will mean it is without honour.
