Can someone explain this, so we are an official kit partner with addidas now as I understand it any club could in theory pay to get an adidas kit produced. It's just unusual for addidas to partner with clubs so low down the pyramid.

I find this hard to believe but our new owners are looking to sell our kit all around the world. Adidas must have seen the potential. On a business trip to China I came across a guy who was very pleased with his Manchester City shirt which he wore with his Chelsea shorts.

The leading kit manufacturers have minimum unit orders. In the case of Adidas, this is likely to be far in excess of the ground's capacity - possibly many many times more. It is no coincidence that few teams lower than the Championship can afford to do this.
It is an enormous statement to have entered into partnership with Adidas.

KEVIN BETSY'S RED ARMY!
Indeed - it's reassuring for Crawley fans I think - as although plenty rightly have a lot of questions about the business model Wagmi are putting forward, Adidas have now examined it and clearly like what they see. They must see potential for larger sales because of the web3 angle

I think the only other club they manufacture kits for below the top two divisions is Accrington Stanley. But, as an earlier post said, hopefully this is reassuring for some fans having concerns as I'm not sure Adidas would be mentioning this deal on social media platforms if they were concerned about the business model

It was mentioned previously - when they first arrived - that they have been connected to Adidas for a long time through the Bored Ape Cryptopunk stuff.
I even helpfully posted - in this very forum - a link to the picture of a white WAGMI UTD Adidas edition, back in May from Preston's twitter ...and picture of a black one was also featured in The same post The BIG question must be: Is that Humanoid "devil" dude figure, Going to become the Cyborg replacement for cuddly old Reggie...? The outline does have a touch of the "Cadbury's Smash alien" about it... "They peel them with their metal knives - boil them for twenty of their minutes - then smash them all to bits. They are clearly a most primitive people."
Hard to think of something more legit than Adidas. But it's just one step. They got to market/sell those NFTs to the new overseas fans and I think we should be collectively hoping that goes well

We can't replace Reggie the Red, how else is John supposed to get into the ground?

They definitely have the global marketing power, ...
...however... from their origin as sports shoes suppliers to the Hitler Youth... through myriad doping scandals... to recent corruption scandals, where top executives face jail time (they are now regarded as toxic in US College Basketball)... it really is not too difficult for anyone with reasonable intelligence, to think of something more legit than Adidas....!
On todays Price of Football podcast this new ‘third kit’ situation gets a mention. I put third kit in inverted commas because there is literally no reference to Crawley Town on said shirt.
