The obvious narrative is first half team not so good second half team brilliant but honestly who can tell in preseasons with so many subs and triallists. That first half QPR team may have a decent chance of getting Prem football so to live with them but for a set piece may be ok
Beautiful Day along with the pitch looking even more so. My man of the match was Ludwig. He looks very fit and way more comfortable on the ball and was involved in a lot of the play.
First half I had flashbacks to Kewell Ball and I thought oh no I hope Betsy doesn’t want them to play this way. We conceded some sloppy goals but ironically with the arguably “b team” side we looked more sharp and Nadesan really made the difference. We finally decided to play forward and use the channels and it paid off instead of passing sideways and backward as we did the first half. Well done to the trialists today too they were quite impressive.
But along with the poor goals I also thought it was a pretty poor home crowd. I do get it’s a friendly but I was slightly disappointed. However it was a fantastic game and I was really Impressed with what I saw. Something special is brewing…

I’m very surprised to hear someone say it was a bad crowd, I thought it was a great turnout for a friendly!

Yeah fair point Alex, I haven’t been to a friendly at home for a while so my expectations were maybe a bit high

Yes didn’t we slightly edge the QPR numbers today - would have taken that given how much their fans were mobilising for this game, which is flattering in itself
Don't know who he is but the 34 looks a bright spark for us. At fault for their 3rd goal mind.
Jim Baker
Ive heard people mention it’s Brandon Mason
Interesting - assumed it was the lad on the left who was the first half triallist and then the second half pair played on the right, but hard to keep up so feel free to correct. None of them let the side down so it indicates the calibre of player we are attracting

Your guess is as good as mine! I tried to look up squad numbers but the website and other websites are outdated also I’m not actually sure if the numbers they were wearing today are going to be the ones they have when the actual home and away kit comes out. Did anyone get a programme?!

I swear the numbers were swapped around in the second half with some of the same players wearing different numbers. That’s my excuse for not keeping up with players on the pitch. I swear our new signing Conroy wore 2 different numbers today.
Tom Nichols wore 48? In the first half and 98 in the second half. It would be good if squad numbers could be issued and published before next pre season friendly although it could be a ploy to confuse any scouts who may have been attending.
