Crawley Town play at home against Queens Park Rangers in a 2022/23 pre-season friendly, Saturday 9th July 15:00 kick off. Please keep all discussion about the match to this thread. Thank you and come on you Reds.
Early goal from a header from a corner. QPR had 4 or 5 decent chances and could’ve been out of sight. QPR started well and Crawley took 10-15 minutes to get into the game and started to get a lot of ball passing it neatly around the back. We have however struggled to progress the ball and haven’t been in the final third much at all. Morris seems to have been instructed to avoid kicking if long. Basically it’s like the Kewell season.
The puzzle for the manager to work will be his can we get the ball into the final third and get the attacking players involved more. Sometimes you need to play long balls from the back to progress the ball if no one is showing in midfield and your getting closed down.
It’s tricky isn’t it, QPR would give Hearts a good game, Nichols has had a number of decent openings but he doesn’t usually face defenders who are not just as smart as him but twice the size
Entertaining match in brilliant sunshine. No obvious injuries. A very good work out with lots of positives against a team 2 leagues higher with massive support (half the 2600 attendance).
