I fear the new management team will want rid of Glenn so they can get in a younger keeper who can pass it out from the back better. Morris has been and arguably still is one of the best keepers in this league. He is a reliable and steady keeper. Could be a mistake getting rid of him. The new keeper dropped a clanger yesterday shortly after coming on while trying to play from the back. Risk and reward and all that. Keepers primary focus should always be shot stopping. P.s to the new management team, our first goal yesterday came from a quick long kick by the keeper over the top for Nadesan. A classic combination!
I was sure the ball was to Nichols for the first goal yesterday??
Anyway, we will see soon if there is truth in this or if it's fiction, personally I think a central midfielder should be of higher priority
Absolutely. It's been a running theme for a few years now that the midfield has been very average. Especially for the kind of football the new manager wants to play I can see the likes of Payne, Powell and Hess playing this tappy tappy football. Tilley looked a different player yesterday and would probably suit that kind of football as he came through the acadamey at Brighton and is more that style of play than traddional lower league football. Ludwig as well looked like this tippay tappy football suited him well as he came through the academy of a Premier League team as well. That's not to say Payne, Powell or Hess are bad players as they have helped us consolidate our place in this league.
Glenn has been absolutely fantastic for the club and kept us in many matches far beyond the straying poor passes. This could be a move to add competition. Lets wait and see.

You seem to me making contradictory arguments, is the keeper good for the last bit or bad for the first bit? I tend to think getting caught with ball at feet is a rare, unusual mistake so overall Addai was in the positive for the day

The new keeper did ok, one mistake which led to a goal and one half assist for the first goal we scored. My point was that a long early kick was far more useful and effective than trying to take the ball past their striker which shows that there is still very much a place for old school football.

I thought despite that mistake he looked a lot better than Blondy was last season, he made a few decent saves and his kicking actually led to a goal for us in the end.
Think I remember Glenn dropping a clanger in a pre-season game last summer too so if you're to pick the best time to make mistakes, pre season is defo the ideal time

Difficult one really.
Firstly it's unbelievable to think that Glenn joined 6 years ago as 'coach and cover', 6 years later he has barely missed a game and is approaching 300 games for the club. What a credit the guy is, his fitness and motivation.
On the backup, well Glenn will be 39 in December so ideally we would have another match experienced keeper competing for the shirt. Addai is almost 26 and an international but has barely any first team experience. Bass is 24 and has 60 odd league games under his belt including a spell at Bradford last season. Chicken and egg I suppose, as you don't get experience if you don't play.
Passing it out from the back is not for the feint hearted.....

Look what happened with our new keeper on Saturday V QPR , for the second goal

I'm sure Glen can do better than that !
Bit harsh. It was one mistake, yes it cost us a goal, but mistakes from the goalie usually do. He more than made up for it after that, made a couple of good saves. And he had the QPR baying mob right behind him taking the piss. Until our awesome comeback silenced them
While I agree Glenn is a brilliant reactivate keeper he has had to be because our defending is poor he's kicking is not great and because of his size gathering high balls is not his strong suit we are always vulnerable at corners and set plays and yes the new keeper messed up in his very first game but I seem to remember Glenn doing exactly the same in a game this season but he will rightly always be a Legend at the club.
