I do think the new goalkeeping coach is a step in the right direction a little bit as it's someone who has tons of experience in English football (and has been pretty successful too). Now feel we need to hire a scout/recruitment analyst who is also experienced and knows exactly which types of players will fit in well with this club, as I don't want to see the mistakes made in the summer repeated again
Keeley is massively well regarded by both Pompey and Brighton fans so this is a really good appointment
Tom has been a bit of an enigma this season, absolutely brilliant in the two big cup wins, he absolutely bossed the Fulham game - but inconsistent in the league bread and butter, streaks of some decent form, but streaks of ineffectiveness. Lewis Young's final gambit to get him and Telford on the same wavelength didn't work. I take Jim's point about him being shifted latterly by Young to the point in the diamond but generally before that he has been favoured in selection up front over Dom this season.
It's massively frustrating that Matty won't get the chance to work with him and who knows what improvement he could have engineered. I'll stay out of the argument about why that happened until I hear credible on the record accounts. But I think both the owners and ME know how important the window will be to the fans to get over this real disappointment. We need positive news, Wagmi, Galley and Matty must take control of the agenda as this first half of the season has been a massive let-down
I just knew you would stick your oar in. It's not up to the fans to drag a decent performance out of the players. It was ruddy freezing Friday evening, and our players were awful. They tried hard but showed themselves up as just not good enough. Not against Hartlepool at any rate. Sometimes they can put in a fantastic performance, but on Friday they were piss poor. We had our ass handed to us by a team below us in the table, as often happens.
I'm not blaming ME, he needs to see just what level we are at and what needs changing. He doesn't have a magic wand. He does have a huge squad of players signed by the previous managers. We also have a number out through injury, illness etc. None of that excuses the diabolical performance they put in. No amount of cheering would have changed that. And it's very difficult to get enthusiastic about a team that just doesn't look bothered. Whether that was down to interference from the DoF, the freezing weather, or something else, it was still a crap performance and not good enough.
It annoys me that over 2000 of us turned up in freezing conditions to watch the lads, instead of staying at home in the warm watching the World Cup, and numpties on here have a go at the fans for not supporting them enough. Sweet jesus.
Only sing when we're winning then, great support! And name-calling at anyone who disagrees with you, yep your usual thin skin. Replying to you is sticking oars in, lol ok, still not got to grips with what a messageboard is all about. Yeh I was there too in the freezing conditions too but I guess I don't think that makes me some kind of hero
Oh give it a rest. You talk so much nonsense. You go on like it's my own personal fault nobody was singing. It was damn cold and the football was crap (from us anyway). Were you leaping up and down cheering every kick and singing all night? No? Of course not. But you have this massive ego where you think you are the best CTFC supporter ever and everyone else is a failure if they don't sing non-stop for 90 minutes or dare say anything even slightly negative about the club.
I don't think I was a hero for going to the game, not sure where you got that idea. Thin skin? Er, no. I just reply to you and you can't stand the fact that I disagree with you sometimes. Egos are fragile things apparently.

The bloke can’t handle anyone having a different opinion to him. Not allowed to point out the blindingly obvious mistakes either, otherwise Wagmi’s number one fan has a meltdown.

Massively well regarded 😂😂😂 Do me a favour, what did you msg all your Pompey and Brighton mates to ask how good a gk coach he is!! As if any football fan knows how good a gk coach is! You must get paid by Wagmi. I thought Wagmi claimed to improve the gk department by bringing in a top full time gk coach? That didn’t last long then? Didn’t work too well considering we have the 2nd worst goals against in the league. As for Nichols, he’s been one of our best players over the last few seasons. I wonder what’s changed? Couldn’t be the Wagmi circus is affecting players performance could it? We’ve had the worst manager in our history who only won 1 league, to be replaced by LY who managed to turn it around and only lose 1 game in 7, to then get shafted by the Wagmi clowns because he wouldn’t play the players they wanted him to, Nichols as one of them. These players that have performed for us don’t deserve to get treated like this from Preston and co.
The management seem to be busting a gut to sell Nichols for £60k which smacks that we are short of money only to go and employ a new goal keeping coach who wont be cheap.

If we sell Nichols for 60k it’s beyond stupid
Clear to see they are on a cost cutting offensive and will take anything they can get. Bargain basement price for Nichols to a division rival, elite pathway programme shut down after 10 weeks.

The former goalkeeper coach left to go to Manchester United, so I’m guessing they are just redirecting the funds they were spending on him

£60k seems like decent money for a L2 player with just 6 months left on his contract. You can pick up a L1/Champ bench warmer on a free transfer and offer him £120k a year more than Nichols is on to drop down to L2 and not increase the playing budget.

The club hold an option for an additional year at the end of this season, so in effect he’s really got an 18 month deal

Point me out where I said it was your fault for anything? I’ll wait.
I was discussing the issue of support for the team on the pitch in general terms on purpose because I know how astonishingly touchy you are, cos you always make it personal when anyone disagrees with you.
Fragile egos lol the projection is truly incredible

The new goalkeeping coach already written off before he gets here, just someone who hates the owners more than they support the club. Sad terminally online behaviour

Yep I don’t like someone lying through their teeth over and over again that I called for the sacking of John Yems. Disagreement is fine, taking the mickey is fine, bare faced lying is not fine. You owe me an apology and I’m going to remind you of this quite often
