The Club still haven’t issued a statement with regards our former player, Robert Smith !!
How many years ago was his injury?

Joking aside. Does anyone know where he is now.
I remember the first time I saw him play. He was as good as anyone I've seen in a Crawley shirt.
Jim Baker
Last seen waving his crutches in the air, celebrating the 3-0 victory at Welling’s Poor View Road to ensure Crawley’s promotion to The Conference League in 2003-04 season.
Last seen at a feline rescue centre because its well known he Love Cats
Here goes...
I was told he is living in 'Fascination Street' , near the 'Forrest' in the 'Same Deep Water As You' and I have 'Faith' he still has those 'Pictures of You' JB.

Just saw this and we're only 4 points and 1 place worse off than we were this point last season (albeit having played a game more). Makes our results this season not seem so bad in comparison especially seeing back then we had Morris and Appiah as regular starters, although Lewis Young steadying the ship did make a difference definitely
Yes you would never know it with the shrill dramatics expressed everywhere we are just 4 points and one place behind last season. The difference was fans (mostly) got behind John Yems when he had that long barren run without a win and our record at the Broadfield was very bad. And rightly so, because of the amount of injuries the manager had to deal with. In 2023, my main wish is to see that spirit of support again

The other difference is that Yems didn't raise everyone's expectations about contending at the end of the season (wasn't the initial story from Wagmi that according to their numbers, increasing the wage bill from £2m to £3m would give a >50% chance of promotion?).
I would say also Yems played to the players strengths, rather than trying to play Barcelona type football with Barnet type players. Plus of course being a local guy always earned him a little extra slack when times got rough.
Anyway we have a new set up, it will be interesting to see what ME can do between now and the end of the season and how he sets us up, bearing in mind that on a realistic basis Crawley are planning for next season.
Two games (one good and one nowhere near good enough:Matt Etherington) is not enough to judge anyone on.
There's no point judging Etherington properly until we see who he brings into the club next month. I've heard suggestions that we could be signing quite a few new players and that a few others might be going too, but hopefully good decisions are made in outgoings and incomings.
Jack Payne (Charlton one, not the one we had last season) said recently that Crawley offered him more money than Charlton and Swindon did but he was a lot more keen to go to the London club. Understandable definitely as I'm sure most players would rather play for Charlton than Crawley if they had to choose either but it made me wonder how much better we would have done this season if he was in our midfield. Telford almost certainly would be scoring more goals
Precisely, we can't really assess Etherington's value to the club until he's brought in players of his own choosing and started fitting his playing system(s) together.
