What is it with the stewards and flares (thrown by Morecambe fan this time). Why can't they deal with them? Correy had to do their job for them.
Not that it changes the point you are making but it looked to me like the smoke bomb was chucked in over the top of the north stand from outside the ground. And frustrating as it may be, I’m sure I’ve seen somewhere that the stewards aren’t supposed to touch them while they are billowing smoke. Presumably Corey shouldn’t have either but fair enough if we needed to get on with the game. One day the pillocks who chuck these things might realise that they aren’t helping anyone.
Oh….interesting…one of the banned supporters maybe?🤔
The owners have clearly given up there is no updates from them and I thought this transfer window was telling . If they were still invested and committed we would have signed three or four proven players to try and push for a play off spot. Instead we made a couple of signings that frankly no one has heard of or have any league experience at the last minute. Both will end up making a few substitute appearances and disappear.
We are playing with out a striker and desperately needed to bring one in. It's hard to knock Orsi on one level with 13 league goals but that fact is misleading 4 are penalties and he's scored twice in two games. His contribution is he will run around and close down ( not so much yesterday) but all other aspects of play are terrible. He isn't aggressive enqough for a striker, no pace, can't win headers , incapable of holding the ball up for the team and have yet to see him link any play.
The teM can't defend and we have no capability up front so we are left passing around the back slower and slower. It's turgid to watch and a waste of time and fans money.
We had 70% possession, Morecambe had two shots on target and scored two goals. Only thing Corey saved was removing the smoke bomb. Weak at the back and weak in attack. Frustrating!
Its possible you missed the 4 or 5 fine saves Cory made as you may have dropped off due to the extreme dullness and turgid performance - I am not a Cory fan but he did his job very well yesterday at times
I hate to say this but i think our season ended today. Probably finish bottom half but have enough points on the board already to not worry about relegation. Thats it just more of today and the occasional win here and there. The owners clearly arent chucking any more money our way for players to seriously strengthen the squad. What next? They said they would step down but who is gonna take over?
I agree, our season is effectively over. Football Web predict we will finish 16th with 60 points. The position feels about right, and I would be happy to get 60 points considering our poor home form.
Not sure there is anyone at Wagmi willing to take over from Preston and Eben. We need a statement from them sometime about their intentions for next season. CSTA are supposed to be meeting them soon so hopefully they will ask them that question then.
I thought Cory was man of the match. His saves kept us in the game, I feel that his distribution is dictated by the coaching team. We have seen in the past that he is capable of starting quick breakouts from defence with a long throw or kick. We need to see more of this and not aimless passing around at the back, often in slow motion.

I agree, Orsi is looking increasingly isolated like Telford was last year. We only seem to be able to play one way - pass the ball slowly around and hopefully get the ball up front. Lolos, Forster and Tsaroulla show a bit of pace, but Forster was taken off for some reason.
We don't seem to be able to deal with pace or stronger players, and neither the players or the manager seem to know how to change things when Plan A is not working. In his Interview, Scott said training was going well until 6 minutes where it went wrong. I wonder what that comment was about?
No Williams or Johnson in the squad today, although Scott said Williams was fit on Thursday. Was he suspended for 10 yellows? FA site said he should have been. Wright will be facing a two match suspension if he gets two more bookings.
At the end of the game I noticed Scott walking of in conversation with Morcambe no 5 who had a great game. He is the type of player we could do with. Strong and aggressive at the back. Farrend Rawson was with Scott at FGR.

I’d be delighted if we can get to 60 points… and the sooner the better. The game should have been there for the taking yesterday. Key moment was when we were 1-0 up and Nick worked his way through. I was totally expecting the net to bulge but his shot went just wide. A minute later we gave away a typically soft goal out of nothing and it was 1-1 instead of 2-0. SL started his summary by saying we are too nice. Some of us have been saying that for a long time. We desperately needed to sign a Bully type player to stiffen the midfield. Or even just a bully! Somebody to get stuck in and dish out the sort of treatment other sides give to us. Lots of afters again from their side yesterday, just like Mansfield, Salford etc did to us.

Has anyone actually seen Johnson recently? Did he even make the BSM Cup squads? Another legacy from Betsy’s dismal reign.
The 'we are too nice' comment will definately backfire. Its happened before elsewhere.
Next Match we will definately get a red card for sure!
Just get rid of Conroy & Maguire. Olag & Mukena must have wondered what they were doing on the bench watching Conroy yesterday! Unbelievable! I think Conroy's Rating yesterday was 1 out of 10. 1 for getting out of bed - thats it!
BBC match stats are a work of fiction then. Looks like they gave up counting before Morecambe got their equaliser.
You are about right there! The final statistics are the same as they were at half time. As proof, the statistics say we had no corners, but we had two within a minute of each other in the 2nd half
Just watched the highlights. Both their goals were due to poor defending. We need to employ a defensive coach to teach our players how to tackle and block shots/crosses!

It’s been a recurring theme this season, gifting soft goals to the opposition. Not so bad when we were scoring more freely earlier but that has dried up now. Lolos was doing his best to make things happen and got in good positions but he should have more confidence in having a shot on those occasions. He can certainly hit a ball, as can Nick and Kelly. I don’t have a problem with players going for goal.

Agree totally, his goal kicks are superb and is what put Telford through to save us at Hartlepool. When we pee around with it at the back it’s like watching Betsy ball again. We get put under pressure and bottle our defending.
