Not that it changes the point you are making but it looked to me like the smoke bomb was chucked in over the top of the north stand from outside the ground. And frustrating as it may be, I’m sure I’ve seen somewhere that the stewards aren’t supposed to touch them while they are billowing smoke. Presumably Corey shouldn’t have either but fair enough if we needed to get on with the game. One day the pillocks who chuck these things might realise that they aren’t helping anyone.
Oh….interesting…one of the banned supporters maybe?🤔
could be it was red smoke. Highly dangerous and fortunate it didnt hit anyone.
Just watched the highlights. Both their goals were due to poor defending. We need to employ a defensive coach to teach our players how to tackle and block shots/crosses!
He can teach Lindsey that at the same time. How SL can persevere with the same defenders, same three at the back formation, and same tippy tappy pass it out from the back nonsense when we are conceding shedloads of soft goals..... talk about only knowing one way to play. Jesus.

From a spectacle point of view the way we are playing is boring with the ball always going backwards or pass it across the backs. All it does is put the possession stats up and teams let us play around this way because we are never going to hurt them while playing pass ball in our half. When teams get tired of us playing around they start pressing someone makes a mistake and bang we are a goal down. It would be interesting to know how many goals we have given away and how many points we have lost with all this boring tippy tapy playing. How long is it before SL sees that we don't have the players to play this way every time we play out from the back or does he need to go to spec savers or is this the only way he knows.

As Scott has said before his Plan B is to do Plan A better. Unfortunately, I don't think he knows how to play any other way. We never seem to change the way we play when he brings on subs and they are often like for like. He also seems to trust a select 15 or so, which is possibly why he seems to be reluctant at times to mix things up a bit, and make more substitutions.
I don’t have a problem with playing it out from the back, the problem as I see it is that the defenders don’t know how to and a lot of the time look lost and have run out of ideas and attempt the “suicide pass”

This exactly. We can't do it, the lads are just not good enough to adopt this playing out from the back style. We are L2 CTFC, not Barca or Man Cheaty. We couldn't do it under Betsy, couldn't do it under Kewell..... can't do it under SL but he's stubbornly sticking with it even though it's costing us goals, points and matches.
If we had a CEO/DoF at the club they would be having a word with him. But we don't. It's like fucking Groundhog Day, just nowhere near as funny.
Interesting thing is though, if playing this way was a complete failure, we'd have about 4 points. As it is, playing this way has got us to the fringes of the playoffs, and evwen to the top of the table after 10 games. So it has actually worked far better than Betsy's version last season.

I think what we need is a leader at the back. This should have been Gladwins role. At times we appear lost. it will be good to find an experienced defender out of contract.
Saturday was really disappointing for a few reasons.
Firstly our home form had until recently been strong and it had become a bit of a fortress and I had felt confident we would get positive results each time we played at home. Now our home form has become worrying and coming off the back of the Salford defeat.
Secondly, aside from their number 5 Rawson and 9 Garner I thought Morecambe were a poor side and very much there for the taking of 3 points to kick us back up closer to the play offs, ye we have now slipped further down the table.
Thirdly I thought it highlighted even more so a poor January recruitment drive because with all due respect to Orsi it was crying out for a different attacking option of pace or power where we could play up to or beyond their back line to ask a different question of them. As well as Orsi has done this season moving forwards there are times he needs a rest or the team needs a different option so attacking options in the window were vital but haven’t been achieved.

Yes BUT For the last 18 games we are in the ''Bottom Six''. I think that is more relevant!

Agree with these points completely.
I always sneak a watch of opposition players and management being interviewed after our games and I just got the feeling their boss was almost embarrassed (though delighted) to come away with 3 points. There’s no doubt they are a poor side and only won because of flashes of great play by their goal scorer in my view.
They were dreadful outside of those moments. Orsi is knackered and unable to fight physical battles against L2 defenders.
He needs help as I’ve said for bloody ages and repeatedly.
It was either scandalous complacency or a lack of support from the owners which allowed us to go through a whole transfer window and end up with basically the square root of zero.

So it makes me wonder why we aren't all happy and singing from the rooftops.
As Asdownred, Northgate, Sooty and many others have recently posted we aren't good enough to play well the way Scott wants consistently. On a rare occasion we do it well and look the part but mostly we the fans are lost in a fuzz of boredom as we see the ball passed crossfield and no real progress made. On the MOTD" highlights Arsenal scored a cracker playing Scott's way but they have players with the skills needed - we dont.
Watching boring repetitive sideways passing wont increase the gate or get the crowd buy in so I would like Scott to have a stab at a plan B for when the style of A method just isn't working as it wont work against all teams even if we could do it well all game.
If he only has one club in his bag, he wont get to the dizzy heights he aspires too.
