If Orsi goes without a BETTER replacement lined up, what messages does that say to the supporters that have renewed and taken up new season tickets, bought Orsi Wembley shirts etc
If someone is going to pay 500k for Orsi I would carry him there myself. He did well for us last season but a half million pound paly he certainly is not. We could recruit three much better players for that money.
To be honest if someone said Lolos was leaving for that I could possibly just believe it. He is the one player we have with ' potential ' to justify that sort of investment or gamble.
I think its either BS or they have wro g transfer fee or player .
3 players for Orsi as good as and their wages and overheads? Shake your head ffs!
I wadnt talking transfer fees but 500k would get you three decent league one or even championship players off contract probably four tbh.
Our highest wage earner is about 100k atm.
Yes, but you can only have 11 on the pitch at any one time. Not only was Orsi our top scorer, he was also a highly competent defender with his thankless chasing around to harry defenders into passing a bit sooner than they wanted. That can regain possession for the team further down the field. Classic defending from the front. I think he ran on Duracells.

Agree if we sell any of our best players we need to get as much money as we can, and have a good replacements, to show commitment to fans. However, Crawley are not a rich club, and often have to sell rather than buy.Rating player's abilities is also hard, as who were thought that some of the players we bought last season were so much better than the previous season when most came from non league, or couldn't get in their previous side's team? Personally I never buy personalised stuff, any club will always sell the best players!
I don’t think Danilo Orsi will be sold this transfer window- clubs will look at him to see what he does in League 1 and then maybe at the January window consider him then - if he is the league’s leading scorer then yes he will probably be sold to a club much higher up the divisions - you can’t stand in the way of any player if he wants to play higher than we are. The trouble with football in the lower leagues is that money talks and clubs need to survive which supporters need to understand- Crawley will always be this way because we don’t have a great fan base in numbers like some clubs have. We just have to hope that Scott Lindsey can work his magic again and find some more players that can be improved so we can again push on again.

Very true, Alain - most clubs are selling clubs if the offer is right. At least now, unless there is anything that we are unaware of, any money can be put towards getting replacements. You have been around long enough to remember the times when we had to sell a player to pay off the Inland Revenue and stop them winding us up. Now that was depressing.
Increased ticket sales demand towards the end of the season, SKY TV money, Wembley income, extra merchandising sales etc, I’m sure we definitely made good progress financially.
Like you I’d be really interested in how the owners want to spend it even if it goes towards covering some other debts within the club (obviously not completely).

Yeah I think clubs will want to see if he's a one season wonder and if he scores 10 goals by January there's a good chance a bigger more established club will come in for him.
With only two and half weeks to go before players are available on a free, I think it is realistic to assume we will only agree renewals for maybe 3 out of the 6_or 7 we are in negotiations with. I would expect Scott has his own list of priorities from this list. I would also expect the club to accept an offer or two for some of our players, if they get a high offer.
I therefore think our squad could look quite different by 10 August ( I expect about 10-12 new signings). Most of the released players could not have played at League 1, so I am hopeful Wagmi and Scott have a list of players they feel can and will improve the squad. Hopefully some we will have heard of and some with potential to play at this level. I would not expect us to sign anyone from below National League level this time (there may be some gems at this level that can play a higher level, like we found last season).
Good to get an update from Scott eventhough it didn't really say anything! Still negotiating on contract renewals.
He hopes for things to pick up soon, which would be good, as one of 9 clubs not to make a signing so far (although transfer window only officially opened today, a lot of clubs have signed non-contract players).
