Sky Bet had us at 500/1 to Win League One last week, and they now have us at 200/1. Either someone has placed a Large Bet on us , or Sky Bet have looked at the new signings and cut our Odds Accordingly! Incidentally our best price to Win League One now is 250/1 with any Bookie anywhere in the Country , as opposed to a few Bookies last week laying 500/1 on us to win League One.

I dont know what signings they are basing their REDUCED ODDS on , but something has changed in the markets!

I still think we need a couple of Top 10 USA College Roster Draft Picks from the USA, hopefully they will arrive soon at the last minute.

I see we have just signed yet another midfielder (central) Cameron Bragg on loan from Southampton. I hope he is defensive minded rather than attacking.

That makes 13 midfielders at the last count including wide midfielders, 14 if you count Malone who seems to be playing in midfield too at the moment. I reckon at least 7 of the midfielders are central midfielders.

I know we like to play 5 or 6 midfielders, but surely this is enough? We really need at least one more defender and one more attacker as mentioned by Preston in his podcast not more midfielders which will struggle to get into team.

I really don’t think yet another midfielder is a priority surely they must realise that we are extremely light upfront and there’s less than 2 weeks to go until the start of the season.

We definitely did need another midfielder. As Preston said, we only really had Williams who could play as a defensive midfielder. Not sure if Bragg is as tough tackling as Jay (but then, who is?) but all our other midfielders play further forward. It does seem like we have a lot, but with our injuries last season I don't think we can have too many players. Don't forget, we played Wright in midfield at times last season, and we're currently playing Jeremy Kelly there.

Yes I am worried if we get another injury up front, we will only have one fit striker (Fish has not played pre-season so assume he is injured). Preston did say a striker was definite priority so hopefully one will be signed.

I notice that the maximum squad allowed in League 1/2 is 22, but this figure does not include goalkeepers or those aged under 21 when the season starts. We currently have 25 players, but that includes 3 keepers and 3 under 21 : Gonzalez, Bragg and Fish.

Our squad is therefore regarded as 19 allowing us to bring in a maximum of 3 more outfield players 21 or over hopefully including a least one striker and a defender. A Back up keeper to replace Sandford would not count, and nor would any players aged under 21. Loaning players out would reduce the squad too. Squads are finalised when loan windows close.

Conroy was captain most of the time when Gladwin was unavailable so think he is the perfect choice.
