This season's squad

We have lost 10 players from the play-off final squad (8 starters and two subs).

I thought I would check how many Crewe have lost from their play off final squad, and it is actually very similar - 9! Their injured captain Luke Oxford also turned down a deal and signed for MK Dons.

3 starting players on loan and 2 playing subs on loan returned to their parent clubs. One playing sub was released and two starting players and one playing sub turned down new contracts and signed for other clubs. No one sold though as far as I can see.

Yes, it’s the numbers/depth we’ve lost too.

Yes it is annoying seeing all these strikers and keepers going to other clubs. We either can't afford them or are looking elsewhere.

I bet the money (or lack of it) which he is offering is also a problem to a lot of players.

As above basically, but from reading twitter it appears the trialists consist of a bloke released by Ebbsfleet that was sacked by Sarajevo a couple years back for disciplinary reasons and players released by the academies of Bournemouth and Watford. As it stands there is no reason to believe potential incomings will be league one standard.

As much as I rate Raf, it looks like we'll be throwing him in the deep-end alongside Papadopoulos and Sandford, which is never a good idea. Hopefully Wagmi see something in these trialists that isn't immediately apparent and the fringe players from last year swim instead of sinking but there doesn't seem to be much room for optimism, at least in terms of players coming in, as Pap, RHM and especially Flint looked very solid.
